I’ve been just a sporadic practicer of yoga for the past ten years, but after experiencing evolation yoga, I think I will become a regular!
This is a brand new yoga studio in the heart of midtown with awesome, ample, free parking in the garage under the complex. The facilities are clean and state of the art. When I walked in I immediately felt at home and comfortable. Everyone is super friendly and makes a point to smile, introduce himself, and help if needed. So far I’ve attended four of the “non-hot” yoga classes taught by Isabelle, Kristen, and Sarah. Each teacher has their own unique style, but all of them were great. Since I’m pregnant, they showed me some modifications I could do to some of the poses in a way that didn’t interrupt the flow of the class. Also, they all set a tone that was accepting and excepting of everyone’s individual level. I’m really finding the stretching, balance, and meditative aspects extremely helpful during my pregnancy and have met some really nice people. Whatever mood I’ve been in at the start of the class, I’ve left feeling great!
I totally recommend this studio for anyone who would like a comfortable, peaceful place to practice yoga, stretch, meditate, or just...
Read moreYou never know who's visiting your studio. When out of town, I attend a studio near my stay. Because my body needed a yin experience, I chose Evolation for its Sat morning session.
I arrived 15 mins early to ensure I was able to get comfortable. However spent 10 mins completing online forms which I understand are required as the case as first time visits for most studios.
My complaint was the expected rush of others at desk who are doing the same and in my case bumped my place in line and therefore delyaed processing for me. Ultimately I entered studio late as the unstructor immediately began the session. As a result I was very upset of the imposition this created.
On the plus side and in spite of the inconvenience, the instructor, Amanda, was sharp. She led a yin session including intense and unique poses to really encourage deep stretch. Additionally, her knowledge of the Anatomy was exceptional.
The one negative was that she never greeted me as a new attendee. Amanda note greeting would be a nice touch.
If not fir the mixup in the beginning, I would have given a 4...
Read moreThis place is my favorite yoga studio in the city. The staff is friendly and professional so you get positive vibes throughout the whole experience. The place is always spotless and well-organized. Check-in is always easy and simple, even when observing public health precautions. The teachers are very knowledgeable and supportive. They will encourage you to challenge yourself while also giving lots of grace when you need to go at a slower pace. They ask ahead of time if you have an injury or medical issue so they can recommend alternate postures for you when needed, so safety is first, and they are accommodating and even comforting to help you get through the workouts. The classroom feel is always peaceful and zen-like, and it's basically a no-judgement zone, so I highly recommend at least giving these guys a try. Hot Yoga should be on everyone's bucket list, and you can try it here. Despite the great midtown location, the classes and membership packages are very...
