Great idea and beautiful place. Poor execution from the customer service upon entering and exiting, to the service at ordering. The entire experience is rushed and feels very cold. With such beautiful aesthetics and seemingly exclusive or highly demanded reservations, you would expect a customer experience to match. Upon making a reservation or getting lucky at the door, you're informed that your reservation allows for 90 minutes to sit. They offer a 15 minute grace period if you're running late and your 90 minutes begins when you're seated or at the top of the grace period (if you're late). While sitting and enjoying drinks, we were told no less than 3 times that our reservation only allowed for 90 minutes (more than once its taken more than 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive). During my most recent visit, within the 90 minutes we watched 3 couples immediately enter and exit before sitting and without ordering - due to poor seating arrangements and poor communication from staff. The neon wall is beautiful and attractive to influencers, which turns into constant gathering at the wall for group photos with bright flashes - very disturbing as it is constant, and with the size of the lounge being so small, everyone sees and is wondering why so much distraction. The vinyl record player seems misplaced and the space is probably better suited for a vintage jukebox. This was my third time at JoJos - once sat at the bar, once sat in a booth, and once at an extremely small high top table. The bar is beautiful and works great for a party of two; the booth is very plush and comfortable, however we were told (on two occasions) that it's for parties of 5 or more even though they sat parties of 4 there; and the high top table is crammed against a wall that makes it nearly impossible to pull your chair out to sit, without moving the entire (wobbly) table away from the wall; the extended table in the middle of the floor is also beautiful, however it's too wide if you're sitting across from one another, causing a screaming match between you and your party (this is probably why the couples entered and immediately exited). You don't get to choose your seat, even if there's a more suitable empty one in the room. The drinks are good, and they offer some craft cocktails that are spins on classics; although, their bar program is much like any other you'd find in some of Atlanta's far better establishments. Again, great concept but...
Read moreThis place is a gorgeous boutique bar in colony square. It has so much potential but there is a tremendous amount of room for improvement. I came here on a random saturday night for a good drink. We didnt have reservations so we placed ourselves on the list at the host stand. The wait was an hour, which we were fine with since this place is highly sought after.
While a waited, we went to the food hall and grabbed a pizza. I saw an article that mentioned the drinks at JoJos are strong so its good to eat beforehand. The hour went by quickly and after our pizza we were ready for some strong lit drinks.
Once entering, the ambiance was beautiful and very cozy. We were seated at a long high-top table in the middle of the room. The place was loud but they would allow us to sit next to each other, we had to sit across the table from one another. It was very awkward to talk especially because you end up hearing and yelling over the people seated next to you. Another couple came and sat next to us so we were able to finagle the seating so it wasnt so weird. We would have loved to sit at the bar but it was full.
The menu has 10 cocktails (no food) and a full bar. We both ordered the Bluetoosy Collins. It was disgusting. The drink was strong, which we loved, however, the flavors did not go well together and we saw several people send the drink back. We asked the waitress if anyone ever likes that drink and her response was 'umm sometimes'. We sent it back and got regular drinks (whiskey and cran).
Other than the bad drinks, the service was so slow. Servers would walk directly past us and not check on us. The music was so loud that they didnt hear if you yell to them. The place is small (maybe holds 40people) and they had enough people working but they were either talking to each other or stepping out back to do whatever and not too attentive.
Overall, this place has lots of potential. Amazing decor and great music but thats it. Not worth the wait at all. I hope they improve things because I'd love to see it utilized to its...
Read moreMe and my friend came here after her birthday dinner. We had reservations, but ended up losing them because we finished dinner later, however, we were still able to be seated at a group table. Let me just say that the atmosphere is pretty chill. The music selection they played was great, which was a throwback to the 80’s. I definitely appreciated that part even though I’m not an 80’s baby. The waitress we had had poor customer service. I’m sorry I didn’t get her name because I sure would have included it in my review. She’s a Black lady with locs with both parts of her head shaved. Kind of tomboyish looking. That’s the best description I can give. I opted to not have a drink because I was still full from my dinner. My friend had two drinks seeing that it is her birthday weekend. I can’t tell you how many times that waitress by passed us and didn’t even check to make sure we were okay. I asked her for water about three times and it took forever for a small glass of water to be refilled. I’m not sure if they had to go fetch the water from Fiji. Anyways, at one point she was at our table taking the orders of two other customers. After the customers placed their order, I called out to her to try to remind her about my glass of water. At that point, she held up her finger as if to silence me. After that, I knew she wasn’t getting a tip. Sadly, there’s a gratuity already included in the bill. I say all this to say that I will definitely NOT be returning to this establishment just because of poor customer service. Me and my friend were able to get some great pictures under the...
