If you're looking for good service or a good beer, this is not the place for you. I was here with a large group and we had a buffet of food which was decent. No complaints. Not like you have to have high expectations for the food at an Irish Pub. I do expect an irish pub to understand which beers they offer. As I was in line for the buffet a server took my order. I asked what stouts they had. "Just Guiness" (well... I later looked at a menu and that wasn't true) so then I asked "What about IPAs?" "Oh, we have the Terrapin Brewing Hopsecutioner and the Monday Night IPA" ... but he didn't know which Monday Night IPA because they brew multiple (it was Slap Fight). Anyway, that would have been ok, but he never brought the drinks that I or my companion ordered until we reminded him again about 15 minutes later after already having sat down. Sure. I'm ok with that, too, but later in the night I took a look at their menu and saw their list of beers. Many of which were improperly labeled, such as the Red Hare SPF 50/50 being labeled as a Honey Brown Ale when it is a Grapefruit Shanty and the Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero was listed as an IPA when with a name like that it is clearly an Imperial Stout. But anyway, I would have been ok with our server forgetting about us once, but he did it two other times as well. First I asked for the Clown Shoes Chocolate Stout. He didn't come back with it and then when I hailed him again, he said they were out. So I ordered a different beer... and once again, he didn't come back with a beer and we had to remind him once more before he returned with one. Overall, I'm not impressed with this place. And for a server who was earning an "automatic gratuity" it certainly showed how much he cared. Maybe it was overwhelming that night, but come on, it...
Read moreWe had the worst, strangest experience here. Walked in around 5:00 on a Saturday, seated immediately. Ordered a signature cocktail, it was served in a wine glass? and tasted awful. I mentioned how bad it was to the waiter and he said "i'm sorry," and just walked away. We ordered the chicken tender appetizer, and it was supposed to come with honey mustard. There was no sauce, when we asked for it, the waiter tried to charge us an additional price, not realizing it is included on the menu. At this point, we were so unimpressed with our experience, we decided to grab dinner elsewhere. My friend and I split the bill, each paying cash. The waiter left with our money, and didn't come back with any change or a receipt. The manager came and checked on us since we hadn't left yet, and we told her we never received our change or a receipt. It was almost $20 between the both of us. She said she would check on that and get back to us. Instead, she went and hung out at the hostess stand and ignored our glances. Our waiter starts helping a nearby table, so we flagged him down and asked him for our change and a receipt. He came back a few minutes later and said they are out of small bills and he cannot give us our change back, but handed us our bill- NOT a receipt of purchase- and we walked out. Also, he charged us a fee for the honey mustard that was included with the appetizer. Really standup guy. Completely incompetent staff, terrible drinks, can't guarantee they oblige by the menu. We were there for over an hour, when it only took about 15 minutes to finish our drinks and appetizer. The only thing this place has is cool decor. Worst restaurant experience in my entire life. I felt like we were in an episode of the...
Read moreHands down my favorite restaurant ever. The cuisine is fairly simple and straightforward, but it's done to perfection. It's traditional Irish and English pub food like shepherd's pie, fish and chips and short ribs with a huge beer selection, some wines and a few mixed drinks. There are also some desserts, and my personal favorite was the chocolate Irish bread pudding. It was the best dessert I've ever had, and it was small enough that I was sad it was gone but not so full that I felt sick from too much sugar. The shepherd's pie was also great, but the best part is the gravy. It was wonderful! I went twice in two nights, and the service each time was really good, even though they were very busy. The waitress the first night chatted with us a bit and let me sample a couple of beers to see if I liked them, and the second night our waiter asked us a bit about where we were from and why we were in Atlanta. We were there for a Manchester City soccer game, and there were a lot of other soccer fans at the pub. They do have at least two TVs with sports games on by the bar, and at the back there's a pool table. I didn't go to the back area, but I could see a little...
