We showed up without a reservation, and they seated us immediately, with an almost full house, which was great. Our waitress, who I shall not name here, showed up a few minutes after we were seated.

She was good, refilling our water and drinks without being asked, but never really asked how our meals were. I am sure she was extraordinarily busy. She even took time to "un-wobble" our table.

My wife ordered mussels and angelhair, my son ordered the fried seafood combination and I ordered the seafood medley over angelhair in their fra diavolo sauce.

I can really comment on my son's meal, as we didn't really talk about it, but he did take half of it home, so I imagine it was good.

My wife and I both noticed that our sauce didn't stick to the angelhair. I tried dipping it in the sauce several times, but it just wouldn't stick, leaving the angelhair somewhat tasteless. My wife reported the same thing when I asked her how she enjoyed her meal. Her sauce of choice was marinara, so it wasn't the fact that it was fra diavolo that made it not stick.

There was lots of seafood in my medley, including shrimp and scallops--lots of decent-sized scallops--probably at least eight to ten of them. However, from the first scallop to the last, the texture was off. They didn't taste bad, but they didn't have that fresh scallop texture that you get when you cut into a fresh scallop. You know what I mean?

I'm a picky eater, so these issues might not matter to you.

There was also an unexplained three percent service charge on our bill. Was that for credit card use? Probably. It was my fault I didn't ask.

Anyhow, I would definitely go back. The atmosphere was invigorating, and I think I want to try the stuffed rigatoni the next time.

No photos, since I usually don't do that, and...

An overrated Atlantic City landmark. Excellent desserts and bread (which is from a bakery). High prices and large portions but average taste. Seats so close another person's back was hitting my back. Incredibly noisy including some of the staff tossing dishes into the dish station. Be prepared to wait to be seated. It is often crowded and busy. No reservations taken here. Wait staff was fine, not exceptional. I won't go back and pay their prices for the quality of food they serve. For $40 plus per person there is better food to be had both in the city and out. UPDATE: Recently visited as was invited. They serve frozen fried seafood. I'm convinced. Equally as bad as worse calamari I've ever had from a local pizza shop! Fried shrimp? Frozen. What else is frozen? Are they using authentic frozen scallops at least? Now I have to wonder. Again, seating terrible, got bumped multiple times by other patrons and staff. Slapped chair at end of four person table to seat five with the chair being in aisle! Hello...awkward! Place REEKED of pungent parmesan cheese it was overpowering. You only need a little on your foot, can you imagine holding a ton to your nose the entire time you eat and are speaking? That's what it's like in the dining room, no lie. It's not a pleasant smell and I love cheese, believe me I do. I had to step out at one point for fresh air, no lie. Prices still high. The place has its charms and I understand why people like it but I'll pass. In case you're wondering if I'm pissed I got served shitty, frozen calamari at a nice Italian restaurant that my friend paid for, yes, yes I am. The shit isn't cheap. I'm just not an asshole that complains at restaurants especially with friends and I'm not...

I had high hopes for this place. Now I don't know that there was a conference in town and for some reason the staffing was maybe a little short for some reason but here is my review. I chose to sit at the bar but the waitress behind the bar didnt want me to sit where I was sitting and wanted me more on the longer side stretch but that's also where a large number of people were exiting and I dint feel like getting elbowed in the back everytime some walked behind me in the tight space. That being said I felt like she treated me more as an inconvenience. She also didnt want to be at work as she wasnt feeling well and complained every chance she got.

The bartender was a cool guy and had a sense of humor.

Food. I got the seafood medley with white sauce on linguine. There was very little sauce. Almost as if they were running out and trying to make sure they could stretch it to closing. Or if made to order sauce then he got my order and made it with three others and I got the last plate where he put too much on the first three plates. So I feel I can't really make an opinion on the sauce. (Which really is everything when it comes to an entree that isn't focused on the pasta). The bread basket was great, soft fresh bread. I got the amaretto creme brulee for dessert at the bartenders advise. Unfortunately the brulee was curdled. Being I was one of the last people of the night, I have a hard time believing no one returned one to the kitchen sometime that night and instead of dispatching them all the cook kept serving them.

The house...

One of my favorite restaurants in NJ . Atlantic City's famous Italian restaurant, it started business in 1935, - a 90-years old historic great restaurant history. Comparing to other restaurants in Atlantic City, the prices are reasonable. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. Our waitress is very attentive even found out a slice of tomato was accidentally dropped in to my boyfriend’s soda before we released while serving salad and replaced it . Great Service. Thumbs up. 👍 The restaurant is filled with valuable historical photos, especially boxing photos ( at our dining area ) and more historical photos. It’s a great place for family gatherings. Reservations are recommended for groups of more than 10 people. I recommended to arrive early or late to avoid peak meal times long waiting on weekends and holidays as reservations are not accepted for groups of less than 10 people . My only suggestion is the salad that comes with the meal; the dressing tend to be too much . If you prefer light meal like me, remember to tell your server salad dressing separately.

I love their marinara sauce (chunky and tasty and lots of good natural tomato flavors and onion). The food is good and plenty. The sampler appetizer was fun with spicy ravioli, mozzarella sticks, and shrimp. The calamari was lightly enough battered and again good sauce. The meatball was a bit overdone and had a smoky taste to it but it was big and plenty. The pasta with clams had a lot of clams just not a lot of sauce. I would have loved the red marinara sauce on my pasta with clams. The cheese on the chicken parmigiana was really good and the chicken was well done. Overall I love the sports memorabilia and decorations and the home feel of the place. Free parking lots (2 lots) so no worries about driving. Free side salad that comes with lemon vinaigrette dressing so if you don’t like dressing the way they add it, ask for it on the side. I didn’t know so I had to drain the large amount of dressing in water. Most main dishes are starting at $20 to $30. Light and fluffy Italian bread as a free appetizer and that was good. Plenty of leftovers to take home.

Was in on the Friday night going into Memorial Day Weekend. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait, but we were seated a couple minutes after arrival. Staff were friendly and our food and drinks came out promptly. The eggplant parm appetizer was good. I was expecting it to be breaded and lightly fried. Still recommend! I had the lasagna and meatball. It did not disappoint. The lasagna didn't fall apart as I cut into it. It had a good amount of meat. The sauce was nice. I saw reviews where the meatballs were mostly bread, but that wasn't the case with mine. My friend got fettuccine Alfredo and was pleased. I had a medical emergency during my visit causing me to temporarily lose consciousness. The staff acted extremely quickly, calling an ambulance immediately, and brought me what I needed in the couple minutes between me coming to and walking out to the EMTs/paramedics. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone to assisted! Go visit Angelo's! There's a reason they've been in business so long.
