If you're in Trump's, Bally's, Caesars, Sheraton, or any nearby casino, do yourself a favor and your stomach a favor by making the short walk over to this Vietnamese restaurant. I like a good Viet meal and this hidden gem in the boondocks was a fantastic visit for reasons that at least meat your non-tangible expectations but extra happy because of how wallet friendly this place is.
There was a large group of us: a table of at least 10 and another table of 7. The staff here make it super easy for you to order on your own tab instead of putting it all under one tab.
Hassle free experience here, extremely wallet friendly. You get a full meal $10 or less without overrating with appetizers- much more enjoyable and worth it than overpriced food in the casinos, priced from $14 and up.
It's also extremely close to a strip of shopping places so digest by walking over or try your luck at the casinos with a full stomach. You're going to thank yourself for coming here instead of having...
Read moreWhat a surprise it was to find such high-quality Viet cooking in the middle of Atlantic City. A truly amazing experience of amazing food, relaxed seating, and easy parking. My partner grew up in a Vietnamese family, and so I’ve had a lot of good Vietnamese dinners in places like Houston, Paris, and the homeland itself. I’d put Pho Sydney right up there with some of the great lunches I’ve had here in the U.S.
In particular, we enjoyed the smokiness of the pork in the banh mi, the Bun Rieu (which had delicious pork meat balls), and the banh xeo (which had delicious shrimp and was cooked nice and crispy). Looking forward to going back in the near future.
Tips for making the most of a visit: Follow their directions when it comes to parking. The pho ga (Chicken pho) is cooked in normal beef pho broth, so be aware if you’re expecting traditional pho ga. The iced Vietnamese coffee has extra milk in it, so it’s not as concentrated. I don’t blame that choice, but it’s not...
Read moreThis was a little while back… Food itself was average, but the reason I rate this place so low is because of my checkout experience. I gave the older gentleman my card to pay at the counter and he gave me the bill but not the my card back. I signed the bill thinking he was going to hand me my card back after I signed the bill. He never did so I asked him if I could get the card back, but he insisted he gave it back to me. I looked everywhere in my wallet just in case I was mistaken, but no he never gave it back. He was insistent he gave it back to me. One of the other workers helped look and said it wasn’t here and maybe just freeze the card since they didn’t have it. At this point I was beyond flabberghasted and was adamant they still had my card! They kept insisting they didn’t have it. Turns out the older gentleman had dropped my card on the floor and didn’t see it. I understand people make mistake but the gas lighting they tried to convince I must have had it...
