Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Aurora Township

First time we have been to this DQ. Traveling through from a sporting event. It appeared they may have been short staffed, but the team inside worked diligently to get orders fulfilled for the long drive thru and the few customers that were coming in. What impressed us most was the young man (Joseph) at the register. As we we got in, he asked to excuse himself to clean some tables. After coming back, he was very polite and filled our order. After bringing our order to us, he asked multiple times if there was anything he could get for us. After helping others, he would check in with other coworkers to see if they needed any help. This young man has a great attitude and has a bright future. You can tell when someone has an "it" factor. The parents of this young man should be proud and this store is lucky to have him in the fold. I have no doubt that others in this store have similar character traits, but he was the only one out front and handled his duties with professionalism beyond his years. I've just recently come back to Dairy Queen . . . a road trip; late night; HUNGRY! (You get the picture.) The #4 Combo with extra pickles is the stuff dreams are made of! Anyway . . . DQ has become my go-to for many reasons: great food, great prices, friendly staff! I've been back a few times since, and each visit has been excellent! Though one visit in particular really stands out. We went to the drive-thru this past weekend and cars were backed up to the 22nd Street entrance. The wait was minimal. They took our order and asked us to wait in the designated order pick-up parking. We watched as several preceding orders were brought out to customers. It was hot. It was busy. I love Dairy Queen and ice cream as a pregnant mama but boy do they need some help around there! Almost every time I go to this one my ice cream is melted! Today we waited over ten minutes at the drive through window while the girl who took our order sat and had a beverage and chatted. No one came to check on is until I started waving at them and some other girl had to come because te first one thought she was too important to do her job at the window. We find out our foods been sitting there the whole time! Then we had to go inside because they forgot our fries. The drive through girl happened to be at the counter and was extremely rude when she saw I was upset. She proceeded to trash talk me for the whole restaurant to hear as I walked out. Her name was Ty.
