Hands down my favorite tacos in town. Perfect street-style tacos, quesadillas, and tortas. (My favorite tacos are the chorizo/egg/cheese (with onions and cilantro) and the bean/egg/cheese (also with onions and cilantro). Also love the carne asada tacos and the gringas. A few things to be aware of:

-- Cash only, although you can order online and use a card. -- Unless you plan to drive away with your tacos, order them "for here", not "to go". To-go's are wrapped in foil and paper; For-here's are served in a happy little paper basket. -- Lines and wait times can be long, ranging from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. Even when the line is short, the wait time might depend on how many online orders are ahead of you. After you order, just ask for an estimated time, then go inside the (very good) coffee shop next door. That coffee shop is happy to have you bring your tacos inside or onto their back deck. -- No potatoes offered as an option. Get over it. -- The red sauce is always pretty hot, sometimes incredibly so. The green sauce is much, much milder. I use both at...

Apparently in an interview Elijah Woods, when asked for the best breakfast in Austin, recommended El Primo!

This is such an unpretentious little food truck (or stall?) There aren’t any vegan options but I got the egg, bean and cheese taco and the torta. The torta had the best bread I’ve ever eaten. The green salsa was my favourite. Really flavourful and I think they make it here themselves! The red salsa was quite a bit spicier, so be careful not to drown your food in that!

The establishment is cash only BUT you can order online! Which is what we did! Can pay online too and then get your warm tacos right as you pull up! There’s two small picnic benches near a tree where you can sit and enjoy. It’s a little noisy with the cars passing by so close by but it’s a real authentic Austin experience!

Definitely try the breakfast tacos! The beef was “literally melt in your mouth” And although not the Best Tacos Ever, these are really solid and up there in...

I love El Primo so much I don't ever want to move! Their breakfast tacos are hands down the best in Austin. I've tried: bean/egg/cheese; chorizo/egg/cheese; bacon/egg/cheese. All three are amazing, but bacon and chorizo are my go-to combos. You can order your tacos and hop on over to Once Over Coffee for a cup of joe. Good coffee and amazing breakfast tacos is the way to start off your weekend. The green sauce is mild and the red sauce is supa spicy--small quantities only!

The two guys who work here are the best. They're friendly and efficient even when they're crazy busy. My hubs and I love them so much we had them cater our housewarming brunch party....

The place was very well recommended. When I got there there was no one and I wondered if I was at the wrong place. Shortly after I got there there was a long line. The little truck is in front of a very small plaza, it has some parking but there is more on the other side. The lady that took my order was very friendly. I got a breakfast taco; sausage, eggs and cheese and a asada taco. I enjoyed them both very much. I didn’t expect the beef to be shredded but it was a very nice surprise. They were big tacos, very fat… I love that. I thought that it was a good price for what I was getting. I would definitely eat here again.

Was told I absolutely needed to get breakfast tacos while I’m Austin, so here we came. The tacos in Austin are so huge, so so big, here including. This truck is cash only, FYI. If you want something to drink, it is parked in a convenience store parking lot that they point you to when you ask. For a great cost, I got three huge tacos that were warm, delicious and filling. I tried the chorizo, sausage, and bacon. Of the three the sausage was my favorite, but this is going to come down to your tastes. I’d say you are not going to be disappointed no matter what! Great service!
