Iron Cactus was amazing food and hospitality. They switched over to being a seed oil free restaurant. Which has elevated the taste, and leaves you feeling amazing. This is located right next to the iconic Comedy mothership, so it’s a great place to grab food/drinks before/after a show.

During my recent trip to Austin, Texas, I had the pleasure of dining at Iron Cactus, and I must say it was a truly delightful experience. As a vegan, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options available on their menu, and the vegan tacos and guacamole left a lasting impression. First and foremost, the vegan tacos were simply outstanding. The filling was a mouthwatering combination of seasoned plant-based protein, fresh vegetables, and a burst of flavorful spices. The tacos were served on warm, soft tortillas that were perfectly toasted, adding a delightful texture to every bite. The attention to detail and the thought put into creating such a delectable vegan option was truly commendable. Accompanying the tacos was the guacamole, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best guacamole dishes I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. The avocados were perfectly ripe and mashed to perfection, resulting in a creamy and velvety texture that melted in my mouth. The addition of fresh lime juice and cilantro gave the guacamole a zesty and refreshing flavor that perfectly complemented the tacos. The atmosphere at Iron Cactus was warm and inviting, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about their menu. They were accommodating and happy to answer any questions I had regarding the vegan options. The service was prompt, and the staff ensured that my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. In addition to the food, Iron Cactus also boasts a wide selection of beverages, including a variety of refreshing cocktails and mocktails. I opted for a vibrant and tangy fruit-infused water, which perfectly complemented the flavors of the tacos and guacamole. Overall, my visit to Iron Cactus was a memorable one. The vegan tacos and guacamole were a testament to the culinary expertise and dedication to quality that the restaurant upholds. Whether you’re a vegan or not, Iron Cactus is a must-visit spot in Austin, Texas, offering a delightful culinary experience that will leave you craving for more.

I was shocked at the lack of customer service and flat out lies from the restaurant. The waiter/bar tender poured me a completely different glass of wine from what I ordered and tried to pass it as the wine that I ordered. My friends ordered a bottle of white wine and I ordered a glass of a Cabernet Sauvignon wine (specifically, Substance). When I tasted the wine, it didn’t taste anything like the wine I ordered. When I inquired about the wine and asked to see the bottle, the waiter became rude and just took the glass away, stating ā€œlet me get you a manager and I’ll take the wine since you don’t like it.ā€ The manager didn’t come. The waiter showed back up stating ā€œwe didn’t have Substance anymore, so we poured you Fetzer.ā€ When I asked him as to why I was not informed of the switch, he just looked at me and repeated that they didn’t have Substance. Clearly, I caught them in a lie and he had nothing to respond. He brought a different bottle of wine (Decoy) and asked if I wanted it. I responded that I don’t want a bottle. He asked if I wanted a glass, I said that if that’s possible, then yes. He left, our food came out, no wine (my friend’s beer was brought after the meal as well, but that’s another story). When one of my friends, asked about my glass of wine (I was just going to let it go at that point), the waiter responded that it was only sold by the bottle. We confirmed that we understood that and only asked about the glass because he offered (we figured it was their way of making things better for not being truthful originally). Once again, he became rude and started to point out in the menu that it only comes in a bottle. At that point we asked for the manager. The manager originally confirmed that the waiter admitted for switching the wines, the manager said that he knew nothing about it. It became comical with one lie after another. The manager eventually did offer a glass of wine to make up for things. Again, our issue is not with the lack of wine but with lies and rudeness of staff (after they were caught in those lies). Honestly, I’ve never experienced anything like...
