This place is great for a beer, a game, a pretzel and friends. A sizable patio with great seating outside at the bar or along the railing at the sidewalk to people watch or in the back on the picnic tables to smoke and talk. You may have to yell as the music or games are on. LOUD. Everything is loud. The music. The waiters/waitresses have to yell and so do you to order. If you don’t mind that this place is super chill. A nice change from the uber posh bars just next door or across the street. A real gem. 4 stars due to the yelling. Smoker and dog friendly outside. Bouncers are chill. Valet parking available. Convenient parking in Garage A very close by. Awesome for people watching and relaxing between dancing at other establishments or meeting up after work or on a weekend for adult beverages. Not kid or teen friendly. 21+ to enter. Cool glass floor inside where you can see the cold room below where beer is stored. Large bar and seating area inside. Small private like area that you can sit off to the right with a small step up. Lots of bar tops and some booths. Again, very loud music. Darts available upon request. Lots of TV’s for your game watching pleasure. 2 Small restrooms off to the right of the large bar with 4 stalls for the ladies. The lighting in there could be brighter. The paper towel distribution could be more sanitary as they sit in small brackets on the counter and endure lots of slashing. Use one on the door handle on the way out. Cool lighting in the interior with an overall cool club-like, yet oddly relaxing dive bar feel while maintaining a high quality feel. Alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks including coffee with or without your choice of liquor. I highly recommend you check...
Read moreI was having a great time giving away free art at this bar, as I've done all across the city for years. Never had a problem doing this ever because it's good for business and free. The owner was apparently paranoid that I was "soliciting" and sent a bar back to tell me to put my art away, too much of a coward to even come tell me himself.
I've never sold my art except for at art markets and am appalled to be told to stop existing because of some greedy owner thinking I'm undercutting him when in reality I was a paying customer just doing my thing that didnt affect anyone except positively. I gave more art to staff than customers even.
I'll never come here again, or recommend it ever again, and I will specifically tell people never to come here for the rest of my life any chance I get.
The staff and drinks were awesome, was planning on leaving a glowing 5 star review about how much fun I had and how nice the staff were until this happened. 100 % on the owner, not passing the blame this time buddy.
Imagine being so pressed over the loss of a couple theoretical dollars that you get a one star review for your foolishness. Now your definitely gonna lose some money! Gold star for effort, you earned that one star!!!
Gotta be hard to be that unhappy of a person. That's this owners reality. Fun and weird things that make Austin Austin are apparently banned here. Will be so happy to never give this bar another dollar, and prevent as many dollars as possible from walking in the door. I foolishly expected more from the domain. Makes sense out of the entire city it would...
Read moreI came here for Happy Hour with a few work people. The place is great, there is a ton of seating inside and outside. I really like the floor on the inside, you can see down to the storage of all the beer kegs. It's kind of trippy, but really neat idea.
They have a great selection of beer, and the menu is broken up to beer types to make your selection easier. There are a few great Happy Hour Specials, the specials are a little different depending on the day.
We got the grilled cheese hushpuppies. They are a little too decadent for me. I don't really feel the "Grilled Cheese" part, but it was more like a Monte Cristo. We also ordered the Pigs in a Blanket, I also was not a fan of those. They were a little too big and hard to eat. I didn't really like the dough the pigs in a blanket were wrapped in. I did however really enjoy the jumbo pretzel. It was very soft and the pretzel was huge! I think it's the same price regardless of Happy Hour. I highly recommend the Pretzel. A friend of mine got the Dirty Waffle Fries, and she didn't really enjoy those either. I haven't tried their full menu, but the food I did have was so so. But they are probably better known for their drink selection.
Parking can still be a bit of a pain in the rock rose area. I did have people have issue trying to get here due to construction but it was probably because they didn't use the better maps app... Google maps has no issue in directing you...
