Crispen. To quote from the great literary work Lolita: [Crispen] light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul..." Upon entering 508 Tequila Bar as a fresh Austinite, excited about the prospect of quality tequila, Crispen entered my life. He will forever be the Best bartender, the one who welcomed me into the Austin bar scene, who gave my mother and I a free margarita. I will forever be in debt to his hospitality and friendly nature, which made me realize that Austin is the Best City in the World. Because we’d already put our names down we decided to stay. We went back to the first bar and was ignored again… so we left and went to Charlie’s. This is my first time in Austin. Maybe it was a busy night (though it didn’t look like it at all. Seriously)… but I’m not sure if this place is terribly friendly to LGBTQ people....
