I originally posted this on Austentico review, but i was informed the bar is separate from the food truck. This happened Wednesday night.?

The male bartender with a beard who worked the night of 18 Sept 2024 should be fired. He was crude, cruel, cold, callous, unfriendly, unprofessional, etc. I was so excited to try Austhentico. I even walked about 12 blocks to have dinner there. When I walked in, I waited to be seated. The bartender did not welcome me. He said in a snotty rude voice “What do you want? May I help you with something,” while glaring at me with menacing dismissive eyes. And I said “it’s just myself.” He replied rudely and turned his back to me and said “oh okay.” And I replied “well do I just sit anywhere.” Turning his back again and in a hostile voice he replied “find a space at the bar somewhere.” So I sat at the end of the bar near the door. He did not bring me water which is customary or hand me a menu. Several minutes later he approached me coldly and said in an outrageously rude tone “have you decided what you want yet.” And I told him “I want to eat, you never gave me a menu.” He grabbed a foldable thing that had the menu on it, aggressively placed it in front of me, and said in a hostile voice (as if he wanted me gone) “use the qr code or go out to the truck to order.” He walked a way again and did not even offer to get me a drink. I felt so insulted, unwelcomed, and belittled that I left. Never in my life have I ever been treated so poorly anywhere (and I taught middle school, lol). Fire...

The only thing good about this place was the variety of Belgian Beer, which is what they're known for. They had 2 of our favorites, 1 of which is incredibly hard to find in Austin, La Trappe. I do appreciate the beers in the proper glass. The front patio gives nice European vibes. However, the service is horrible. I wish I had gotten her name, tall thin woman, medium length blonde hair. Very rude and short with our group, the birthday boy with us had questions and she wasn't happy to help. She told him to stop talking in the middle of their conversation. Then when we went to close our tab the bill was $135 for 4 beers. Four beers, by the glass. Now some of the beers are pricier than others since they're imported but we were aware of that as the prices are listed on the chalk board behind the bar. We also don't mind paying good money for quality beer. We questioned the tab and the person behind the bar investigated and said the tall thin woman, who was short with us earlier, charged us for the two large bottles of some vintage or specialty bottle, which is not what we ordered nor what she served. She eventually fixed the tab but it was a very sketchy 'mistake' and the entire experience was memorable in a terrible way. We will not be back and are disappointed since we went in very excited to try it out. I don't...

Well, something happened to me for a first time. A couple of months ago, it seems that I accidentally rated Mort Subite; didn't even review the place, and gave it a miserable rating. I don't know how I managed to click exactly the wrong thing at the right time, but that seems to explain that unreviewed rating. This review will correct the mis-impression; Mort Subite has (and to my view has long) merited a rating of 4 stars. Wide range of beers; knowledgeable staff and owners; pleasant surroundings; interesting people in the bar; and (importantly) you can carry on a good conversation without talking over the din. The pricing seems to be a little higher than other places (I'm no comparison shopper) but the beer is head and shoulders above most. My one question has been availability of any form of food at certain times , but I think that is being addressed. So go there, have a splendid time with friends, and...

Austin, Texas is known for its vibrant and dynamic bar scene, which includes various pop-up bars that appear throughout the city from time to time. The Stubborn Bar from @fiercewhiskers takes the top pick for us this summer. It's located in a place that's intentionally hard to get to... THE MIDDLE OF LADY BIRD LAKE! 🛶 Make sure to RSVP now because they're only floating weekends in June. You don't want to miss your opportunity to try their first release, a two year Texas Straight Rye. Because it's not easy to properly age premium whiskey in the unrelenting heat of Austin, TX, a hard to get to Stubborn Bar is the perfect place to enjoy it. I honestly don’t have enough words to describe how awesome and cool this place is! Who even invests in serving Trappist beer these days? With over 90k craft breweries in the U.S., this place completely blew my mind. I can’t believe I didn’t ask the names of the amazing staff—the woman with the colorful hair and the coolest guy in Austin with blonde hair. They were incredible! I loved them so much that I even suggested they should teach more people how to appreciate the great stuff they have. I’m certain once people walk in and try any of their beers, they’ll never go anywhere else. And don’t even get me started on the Spanish food truck—huge shoutout to that couple for serving such incredible food! Thanks, Austin, and thanks to everyone there!

We love visiting towns and just walking in whatever direction and see what we discover and wandered into Mort Subite and we LOVE Belgian Beer. It wasn't very crowded, but got a couple of seats at the bar and just had the best time with Piper who was working the taps. She's a gem and we enjoyed the education and fun chat. Could have stayed longer, but they closed at 7 p.m., but that was still enough for a number of tasty rounds. Would have liked to have tried the food as well. We'll be back. Piper...you rock! Thanks for taking care of us! Come visit us in Mexico!
