Boot Mechanics Avon — Local services in Avon

I'm 40 years old, aggressive skier, and have never had a pair of boots that didn't give me pain issues. I've tried everything - several pairs of SureFoots, customs, etc. Nothing ever worked. Every "boot guy" I took my problems to blamed the last guy, punched out the boots some, and created more problems. Planned a trip to Vail so researched the best boot fitter in the area - Jeff Harper's name kept coming up on Reddit boards / FB groups etc. Called Vail ski school, asked to talk to a few instructors, asked them who the best is, they all said the same thing: "Jeff Harper is the only guy I trust with my feet". Oh man he did not disappoint. Made a reservation a month ago and saw him yesterday. Tried on 3 boots, picked one that fit the best, he explained why I was having issues in prior boots, did some work on the footbed, didn't try to "oversell" orthotics or any of the other shenanigans typical in these cases. Was on the hill all day yesterday in the bumps, not a single issue. Literally no pain. Have NEVER had no pain in my feet. Special mention to boot heaters which Jeff installed for me as well - those are amazing. Jeff - you are a man amongst boys. Kudos to...

Truly as good as it gets - I cannot say enough about Boot Mechanics.

I came to the shop with a pair of boots that I had bought from a different retailer. The boots were so painful that I seriously could not even wear them without being in immense pain.

Sands worked on my boots for two hours and got them to a place where I was able to wear them all day. Beyond miraculous. Throughout the entire process, he was thoughtful, kind, and incredibly generous with his time and customer service. He went above and beyond to try to get me to a place where I could enjoy the ski day - and succeeded when I didn't think it was possible.

I came in not trusting anyone to fit me into a proper boot - and left with incredible appreciation and admiration for this shop. I can't wait to come back next season and get fitted into the perfect boot. Boot Mechanics are the only ones I trust from here on out!

Jeff and the rest of the Avon crew literally helped save my ski trip! After an extremely painful day on the slopes, we called Boot Mechanics to see if they had an cancellations/openings to help look at my ski boots. Despite a full schedule on their end, they were extremely emphatic and allowed me to come in same day for a quick check. My husband and I were blown away with their customer service and even more by their knowledge. They stayed late to help fix my boots (I enjoyed the two remaining days of our trip without any more pain) and Jeff patiently answered all of my questions. I am extremely grateful for him and the rest of their team — lifesavers and good, honest professionals. My only regret is not living in the area to see them on a regular basis for when I buy new boots and get them custom fit. Can’t recommend these...
