This was my experience. Thursday July 11th, 2024, we had three of us. So around 9 or 10 AM-ish. I look up this place and see three rooms with different levels. When i was looking the beginner (save the mountain) was booked till Saturday, and the intermediate (Rocky mountain meltdown) was booked till Friday so the only room was the advanced (Marble mountain mystery) at 7:30 PM. So its my sister a work friend and myself, we were at bever creek for a work thing. So stuff happens and we wont make it due to work event going over our time. So my sister calls to cancel and get a refund. My sister is taking a bit and i see her body language is getting aggressive. So i pop over to listen in and the person on the other line is refusing a refund. Now looking at there rules yes they need a 24 hours to do a full refund but after that its at the discretion of the location to give a full refund(I read this after all this, but most escape rooms i have done have always given a refund especially the hard rooms that are under booked) Anyway, when I checked at 7PM the room wasn’t fully booked. So it wasn’t like they would have lost out. So my sister is saying they will only give a $40 refund and my sister asks about tax and the guy says he cant tally that as they use a 3rd party system (but if you go to there online system you can figure it out) now my sister is getting very vocal and upset about it so I put out my hand to take over because she is giving me the eye that says if you don’t take this call ill kill you look. When I get on the first thing I hear is the guy saying “I don’t have to give a refund but ill give you $40 out of the $140ish ive paid and I should be grateful for that. WOW super friendly. Now I get the rules and all but it wasn’t like we booked days ago and blocked others, it would be like booking two hours early then called an hour later saying we want a refund, with 7 spots still open to book for the hardest room that wasn’t booked out already you would think in the interest in good will and leaving a good review they would help out. But sadly no, anyway the place looked like it would have been fun to do but we left with a bad experience without ever getting to the...
Read moreJust swung by on an off day from snowboarding with the entire family (mom, dad, brother, sister). First off want to give an idea on which room difficulty to do: We had 2 experienced escapers and 3 non. We did the hard escape room (gold mine theme) and finished with about 5 min left after a few clues. We wholeheartedly would recommend the hard one for groups that have experienced escape room members, but it may be too hard for a first attempt.
The place was awesome and fully warrants a 5* review. The rooms are designed by the staff and Colorado themed (as opposed to many escape rooms who pull from a catalog for their designs). Puzzles had a really cool variety that utilized skills from every member of our family. Our parents wanted to stay and do a second one even!
Despite being self designed puzzles, everything worked well. The puzzle we did was a little less linear than previous escape rooms I've been. This made it fun with a group of 5 since we could separately solve different pieces at the same time.
If we are ever back in Vail, we...
Read moreOur family loves doing escape rooms on vacation and we've been to quite a few over the years. We tried the Rocky Mountain Meltdown room today with our two kids and had a blast!
We managed to escape with time to spare without using any clues, which was satisfying. What really impressed us was the variety of puzzles - we encountered several challenges that were completely new to us, which is rare after visiting so many escape rooms. The creativity in the room design was excellent.
The highlight was definitely the collaborative elements. There was one puzzle that required all four of us to participate simultaneously, and our kids loved being genuinely needed rather than just watching the adults solve everything. It's refreshing to find an escape room that truly engages the whole family.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was well-designed throughout. We'd definitely recommend this to other families visiting Vail, and we're already talking about coming back to try their other rooms on...
