Phil's Cheesesteaks & more — Restaurant in Bakersfield

The level of customer gratitude and service is that of which I do not think I have ever experienced, I came on a normal day and unfortunately they were not there, I messaged asking if they had moved and they informed me they were at a private event, none the less Felipe (sorry if spelt wrong) took it on himself to make my order and hand deliver it to me, he even threw in some water for free. A start that to some would be major and the biggest front of the experience, would somehow be out shown by the food itself, to start on the food they get rolls delivered from Philadelphia which to some again may seem small but in the world of cheese steaks you cant hide your bread under tons of ingredients and it was chosen specifically to be authentic and have the taste it should, the steak was sliced nice and thin, the onions and peppers were merged beautifully with the steak and the cheese wiz was the cherry on top, take any of the ingredients individually and they would be well enough on their own, but once merged they became a piece of simple culinary bliss. Went to Bakersfield today from Tehachapi and stopped for lunch at The Burger Hut/ Phil's cheese steaks. I have been wanting to try this place since I heard about them. I am a big Philly cheese steak fan. Glad I finally got to try them, as they did not disappoint. I ordered the Philly with onion rings and a coke, my lunch date had the Wiz. Both of the sandwiches were top notch! The roll was soft and fresh the steak cooked perfectly by a cook that is actually from Philly. The place is rather small inside with limited seating, but the food is amazing. Their staff was very friendly and made our first visit an enjoyable one. If you are looking for an authentic Philly cheese steak, Phil's in the Burger Hut is the place to go. I recommend this place to folks looking for a good meal at a fair price. I usually never leave reviews, but I had to for this place. When I went here, the owner was absolutely amazing—so welcoming, generous, and humble. The food was perfect, served at the perfect temperature.

This was my first time visiting Bakersfield, and I honestly felt like I was a regular customer who had been coming for years. The way the owner treated me was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant—so engaged, hardworking, and genuinely caring.

This restaurant easily beats In-N-Out, The Habit, and Five Guys—it’s officially my new favorite spot. I even told the owner that once I become rich and successful , I’d love to talk about franchising because everything was amazing. Food was very very fresh. Prices were great
