We ate here multiple times over the course of a weekend for a sponsored industry event hosted in the Marriot.
The food was excellent, prepared well and presented well. The cocktails - while overpriced - did not disappoint. The staffing and service however was in no uncertain terms absolutely abysmal.
Between a consistent dialect barrier (which i'm hesitant to mention because i know that can't always be helped) across multiple servers, was a complete lack of understanding of their own menu items, or how to properly ticket a meal. I was nearly erroneously charged an extra $30 for a dish nobody at my table had, after explaining to the server four separate times prior that we didn't order it.
The staff will present as friendly and have decent manners, but ultimately they consistently disappointed at correctly performing basic tasks like splitting a check, accomodating a wheelchair-bound patron, or accomodating a patron with food allergies. They ultimately succeeded at all of those feats, but not after multiple communication errors and corrections.
I really need to stress that I don't usually go out of my way to review places, and I really need to give the kitchen staff props for their excellent culinary skills, but every chance we had to eat here was consistently frustrated by...
Read moreHad breakfast here on 5th of July.
Food was below average and overpriced. I ordered fancy-sounding "good start". For 17 dollars, I got a large plate of bland and overcooked mushy oatmeal and one tiny bagel the size of my palm and a tiny cup of "fresh" berries that were actually dying. Their oatmeal tasted like packaged instant one and their bagel looked exactly the same as from Duncan Donuts. For 7 dollars, you got three pieces of bacon, which was not extra crispy as my son asked for. For 5 dollars, you got the same tiny bagel with a little Nutella on the side. A fruit cup would set you back close to 10 bucks.
What is even more troublesome is the service or the lack of it.The restaurant does not feel friendly or welcoming. None of the staff working there smiled or greeted you or asked how you were doing. Our server, RaXXX, was brusque and smile-less and gave the sense that he would rather be somewhere else doing something else. My son is a very picky eater. Whenever we politely asked for something from RaXXX, he would make a point of asking "anything else" not to be thorough but to avoid another trip, which consists of like 10 steps from our table to their open pantry in the middle of...
Read moreI came here in the evening and for breakfast. This restaurant is really abusing its position as the hotel bar/restaurant on the waterfront. The service is lazy, especially when it's busy. I asked for the check when it was my turn in the bartender's "rotation" and I was told "you're going to have to wait" and then... Well... Had to wait another 10 minutes for her to get back to me in her rotation and actually give me my check. Breakfast was just as bad with the Broken Yolk Sandwich being served overcooked and 15 minutes after I ordered it. I was also charged for a signature Bloody Mary with supposed extras but just got Bloody Mary mix with who-knows-what vodka and none of the extra garnishes it was supposed...
