Brown Rice Korean Grill seems to be on a one-restaurant mission to cure the American obesity epidemic. Not by serving healthy food—which they do, but by limiting how much food they actually serve you. I think they would use tweezers and count each individual green bean they serve you if the optics wouldn't be so bad. The food is great, but when you choose your veggies, they use these tiny tongs to pick them up and place them into your bowl. And if they inadvertently place too much they go back in with the tongs and remove some of the veggies to place them back from whence they came. It's as if they are constantly running the numbers of how much each individual slice of carrot costs them. Every time I eat here I know I'm going to feel like I'm somehow being nickel and dimed, but I return again and again because it's a good healthy option and the staff is friendly. I just wish I couldn't count the individual ingredients...

The Mount Vernon Marketplace is a very cool and uppity Cafeteria, which many great food options. A very popular spot for a date. Within this food marketplace lies a gem. Brown Rice Korean Grille.

While there are around 5 Brown Rice locations, this is one of the oldest locations and it is by far the best. A lot of people have complained about the food portions that they give here, but I completely disagree. They give a good amount.

Also they have the BB habanero based hot sauce, which is the best sauce ever made! It is the only Brown Rice location with this sauce!

Also it is the only Brown Rice location that does not Charge extra money for the more popular veggies. They have almost every veggie and protein that you can think of!...

This particular branch of brown rice disappointed me. The quantity of food was miniscule so I asked the lady behind the counter to add more toppings (she used a spoon, not a ladle, to add one more broccoli and two mere green beans etc...) however, she suddenly became extremely rude to me and said that she had certain "proportions" for the bowl. The situation escalated when her partner started shouting at me saying that "you don't know how to make this food and you don't know how to eat it either." He also said that he would never want a customer like me again. I was shocked and appalled at their service. The food was not enough as I became hungry within an hour and usually with other brown rice branches, I have food left over for...

We wandered into the marketplace for our first time today for the Brown Rice Korean restaurant. I ordered the beef bulgogi in a super bowl with zucchini, broccoli, onion, bean sprouts, mushrooms, kimchi and cucumber kimchi with the bulgogi sauce mixed with the gochujang sauce. My bowl was very good! My fiance ordered a spicy chicken hot stone bowl with bean sprouts, carrots and corn, topped bulgogi and gochujang sauce with a fried egg and enjoyed his as well. He got to have his sacsac grape juice, which he enjoyed very much. We will definitely be returning!

All the food tastes so fresh. I had a small bowl with white rice, brown beef (which had a nice sticky sweet and savory flavor), carrots, kale, bean sprouts, red onions, and beets! On top I had the Mango Suace w/ a little bit of spicy mayo, sesame seeds and oil. The service was good and the server explained how the process worked. We were able to eat inside the market place which was very clean. Nice hip location, artsy open spaces, lots of tables, seating and clean public restrooms. Highly recommend this spot and I’ll definitely be going back again!

The food was fantastic. Mmmm! Half spicy and half regularly-spiced chicken was just right for me. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. I'll definitely go back. I wish they stayed open later on a regular basis. It would be lovely to be able to count on them being open, to serve as a food option to take over to Taps Fill Station or the Last Call. Three market is open until 10pm now, but this place was closed before 8 when I got there Saturday night. 😔 So, I suggest calling first.
