Mr. Nice Pie — Restaurant in Baltimore

Baltimore’s food scene is to be reckoned with, right!! So there is this spot inside of Mt. Vernon Marketplace called Mr. Nice Pie…a pizza joint by the homie Cheezy Mike’s. Since I’m a fan of Mike’s I had to try his pizza!! LET’S GO!! . Where I am: @mrnicepiebaltimore inside of @mountvernonmarketplace . Menu Includes: Craft Pies-Quattro Formaggi, Super Margherita, Pepperoni, Meat Lovers, Mushrooms, Faux Meat, Hawaiian, Cheesesteak, Buffalo Chicken. Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Tenders, Curly Fries, Onion Rings, & More!! . Items Reviewed: Their Cheese Slice ($4). STAMP!! Classic NY style, a perfect cheese to marinara ratio!!

Their Cowabunga Pepperoni (14 inches with cup pepperonis $20). STAMP!! Again classic, full of pepperoni, SUPERB!!

Their Chicken Strips (fried chicken strips with, bbq, ranch, honey mustard, & ketchup 4 for $20). STAMP!! Meaty, plentiful, & fried to perfection.

Their Cheesesteak Pizza (14 inch white pizza with chopped steak, peppers, & onions $20). STAMP!! My favorite one!! A white sauce that complimented a mix of mozzarella, & provolone, with tender steak. BEST cheesesteak pizza I’ve ever had!! . Customer Service: On Point . Online Navigation: Easy . Parking: Decent, depending on the time of day. . Recommendations: Any of their pizzas especially the cheesesteak. Get the chicken too!!

One of my favorite spots in Baltimore has Oxtail pizza!! Now I’ve reviewed their other pizzas before…STAMP…period!! Let’s go get that jont, & stop at their sister spot while I’m up there!! . Smoky meaty oxtail, a mildly spicy jerk sauce, a top tier nutty cheese blend, and a handmade buttery crust!! GET THIS (Limited amount so get there early)!!

Cheezy Mike’s Items Reviewed: Their Cheese Steak Eggrolls (with top round, Monterey Jack cheese, peppers, onions, & a sweet chili sauce $13). STAMP!! Crisp exteriors, meaty cheesy interior, well seasoned perfection!!

Their Chicken Empanadas (with shredded chicken, a secret blend of cheeses, & honey mustard sauce $12). DELICIOUS! Well fried, tasty, I just needed a lil bit of juiciness with the chicken!!

Their Cheesy Garlic French Dip (thinly sliced top round, with Gruyère cheese, on toasted garlic French bread, with a cup of Au Jus $14). STAMP!! Garlicky, cheesy, plenty of protein, dipped in that beef broth…WINNING!! Get this!! . Customer Service: On Point!! . Online Navigation: Easy . Parking: Rough . Came to try the oxtail pizza which was very good. My issues were with the customer service. I called before coming because I attempted to order online ahead of time and the oxtail pizza said sold out; owner replied “no it’s not sold out online”. He then proceeds to check and it was in fact sold out online. Even thought he was snappy and wrong he did not apologize; just updated the website.

Still placed the order online. Upon arrival the pizza was not ready yet and we asked if the pizza could be well done (left in a little longer) and he again had another snappy response like, “I do that anyway, that’s how they’re made”. Keep in mind we’ve never been here before and even if we had, what type of response is that?

It was not nicely said at all. It was like don’t tell me what to do, I make it how I make it. I didn’t appreciate that. My negative stars are solely on his customer service....

Owner tried to tell me he was doing me a favor by charging me the advertised online price instead of the in-person listed price ($15 for 4 tenders and fries instead of $20) and then proceeded to serve me the saddest basket of chicken and fries I think I’ve ever seen. Around 10 fries and and very dry, brittle chicken in what tastes like not-very-fresh oil. I hate being petty (actually I don’t, but who posts google reviews?) but just know, if you’re reading this and there are still price discrepancies between their online menu and their in person menu, then they’re trying to get you through the door. :) Haven’t tried their pizza but stay away from the $20...
