Everything about this place is great minus the short white male barista. Let me preface this review by saying the way these menu items are listed makes no sense. I wanted a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. DIRECTLY under the bacon egg and cheese sandwich is a SPICY egg and cheese sandwich. I knew for sure I didn’t want that so I ordered the bacon egg and cheese sandwich thinking it would be just as it says. No. The bacon egg and cheese sandwich also has pepper jelly on it. I walked back over and kindly let him know I didn’t realize the sandwich I ordered also had pepper jelly on it and that I didn’t want that. He said okay, rang me up, then told me my total. I was confused since it was a simple mistake. His response was “well it says it on the menu”. And im like okay well I didn’t realize that because it doesn’t say SPICY bacon egg and cheese sandwich. And he kept being a prick sayin “well it’s right there. it’s on the menu. idk what you want me to do about that.”. I just couldn’t believe he expected me to pay again for an honest mistake. I asked for a manger to which he replied with an attitude “the manager just left” and just shrugged me off. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak with to which he says the kitchen manager is here. So I asked to talk to him. So I tell him “hey I didn’t realize this also has pepper jelly on it, I don’t want that im sorry” and you want to know what he said? NO PROBLEM! Then the barista is looking confused and I heard him ask “well what do you want me to do” and let me tell you what you should do. You should really shut your mouth when you’re talking to people. The whole exchange was extremely rude and off putting. So for those of you reading this, make sure you don’t make any mistakes here ordering your food because he will surely make you pay for them. And for the business, you should really consider just having a spicy egg and cheese sandwich with the option to up-charge $2 for bacon considering the base of the sandwiches are the same. One just has bacon. That doesn’t seem a bit...
Read moreThis was my second time ordering from Dooby's. First visit was a for a to-go drink I ordered online prior to opening. I got there about 30 minutes after pick-up and still had to wait. Today, my daughter and I decided to do brunch. We both ordered the homestyle breakfast. I opted out of the sausage that's included. So, instead of 3 pieces of bacon, I got 6. When our food arrived, the bacon was visibly soggy, so I asked if it could be made crispy. I thought our server would have taken the bacon from us both to have it corrected, but instead he said he would request crispy bacon immediately. When we received the now side order of bacon, it was 6 pieces: 3 for me and 3 for my daughter. 3 pieces were missing. Also, the new order appeared to have been deep fried rather than cooked on a skillet. I mentioned to our server that I was missing a serving and explained I was due 6 pieces for myself because of the original substitution for the sausage. He then asked if I wanted another side of bacon and walks off saying he will put the order in. We wait another 10-15 minutes. It's not a busy time. I tried eating the barely fried eggs, but they were way too runny for my liking, and the egg whites were also a bit runny as if the eggs were boiled in a pot. When my daughter went to check on the side of bacon we were waiting on, the counter staff was confused and the guy who was supposed to have put in the correction walked off. Apparently, there was a miscommunication and no one decided to update us thinking that because we got the first side order that we were taken care of. So, we ended up boxing up what we could to take home for my dog. We did get the additional 3 pieces that were crispy, but again deep fried, when in reality, if it was cooked long enough on the grill, it would've turned out crispy as opposed to gummy. While the staff was "nice" enough, the service was poor and rushed. It definitely wasn't worth $30 for decent toast, potatoes and the under cooked bacon I opted to feed to my dog. I won't...
Read moreDooby’s is described as a Korean-inspired café, and while the menu does reflect that influence, the exterior and interior don’t give off a distinctly Korean vibe. That said, it’s a cozy, modern spot with a wide selection of coffee drinks, pastries, and food items—definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
I stopped in for a coffee break and tried one of their house-made syrup lattes. I went with the Miso Caramel latte ($4.50), subbed with oat milk for an extra $0.75. It didn’t have a strong miso flavor, but it was still smooth and enjoyable. I also grabbed a Lavender Goat Cheese Scone for $4, which was a highlight. You could see the lavender tea leaves baked in and the goat cheese crumble gave it a savory edge that balanced the floral notes beautifully—highly recommend trying it if you like unique pastries.
The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, with plenty of seating. It’s the kind of place where people come to chat, study, or work—easygoing and not too loud. They also have a water station with free water available, which is a nice touch.
Check out the menu photos if you want to explore more food options and prices. I’d definitely come back to try their full menu next time. A great spot for coffee, conversation, or getting...
