I have been visiting this restaurant for a very long time and the food and the people that run this establishment are very professional and definitely know their job. The funny part here in the reviews that I have been reading is that unfortunately all negative remarks are from Indians, our desi friends from India. When an Indian walks in an Indian restaurant here in the US, they think they own the establishment and all the workers on the restaurant are their slaves and at their beck and call. I am not saying that all Indians are like that, but the majority that come here definitely want to be treated like royalty, and when it comes to paying the bill will look for excuses to have it reduced and of course tipping the person who served them now becomes a very bad and rude server. The state of Massachusetts makes it very clear that the mandatory gratuity of 20% be clearly printed on the menu. Unfortunately that 20% make the food bad the atmosphere bad the chef bad and the server bad. The GORAS that come here love the food here. This restaurant sends food every evening by the 6.30PM flight to Nantucket. If the food was that bad why would Indian food be flying to the island. Cape Cod hospital has termed this restaurant as their favorite restaurant. This restaurant has been in Hyannis for the last 29 years, definitely by not selling bad and rotten food. My suggestion to all Visiting Desi friends is enjoy the food and behave like you would in any Gora...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant as we were craving some desi food. Staffs who I believe to be a mother and son weren’t courteous or friendly at all. There was no greetings or anything like that when a lady came to take our order. It’s wasn’t even that busy but they took awfully long to bring our food. Before the food, we weren’t offered water like any other restaurant would. I asked for water and got 2 glasses of water for 5 of five ( 3 kids). It was a while we got 2 more glasses of water after the second request for water. After a long day outside in sun, we all were very thirsty even more after starting to eat food. Not welcoming at all. Food was average. Seemed like everything was cooked in hurry and veg biryani didn’t really taste like it. Also the quantity of food was very small. I feel it was quite overpriced for the quantity. Another thing I wanted to point out was that menu was quite limited. There are not many varieties or items in menu. In general, Indian restaurants offer much wider range of food. Being a only restaurant in the area probably people are coming here to eat when they want Indian food. But I was disappointed with the bad service and over all quality of food. I wouldn’t...
Read moreAWFUL is the word to start. Just because they are the only Indian restaurant in Hyannis they have the monopoly to serve horrible food and give more horrible service. We reached this restaurant at that time it was almost empty but still they served the order late and when we wanted to order more they were rude enough to tell us that (indirectly)cannot take orders since it was rush hour . Coming to the food it did not justify the price and certainly not the 20 % gratuity which you are forced to pay even if your party has 2 people and they charge it for service which is HORRIBLE, the FOOD QUANTITY VERY VERY LESS for the price they charge. Veg Biryani which we ordered was not a biryani nor even fried rice it was just half uncooked white rice mixed with whatever sabji they could grab and mixed. Tanduri rotis were very thin like machine made chapatis. MY SUGGESTION If you can’t even live without eating Indian food then also don’t go here instead grab a bagel or something and save...
