Jeremiah's Italian Ice — Restaurant in Bastrop

The building is too small for big events like the block party event. Today at the Bastrop block party they had a large trash can right outside their front door attracting tons of bees. I was actually assuring my family that if we leave them alone they’ll leave us alone. Oh the irony that I got stung. Right after I got stung an employee moved the trash can away from the door. I asked for ice to put on the sting and they told me with a big smile that they don’t have ice. At all. No apology or look of any type of empathy that someone got stung at their establishment under their conditions. Cool, no problem I’ll just use my cup of ice cream as an ice pack. The ice cream itself is ok. But whatever size you ask for they give you enough ice cream to fill two of those cups. When I say this thing was overflowing I mean it was OVERflowing. I got the tadpole and it had about 3-4 inches of ice cream above the top of the cup. Keep in mind, the building can only hold maybe 15 people inside. And it’s 95+ F outside with maybe 3 small covered tables. So even being at this event only 10 minutes after it started, it was too crowded to find anywhere shaded or AC. So the OVERflowing ice cream melted in the two minutes it took to get to the car. Sticky ice cream all over my clothes, the stroller, and the car, and I couldn’t use the now sticky cup as an ice pack for the bee sting either. If they have another large event at this location trash cans need to be away from crowd not right in the middle. With as many customers as they have it’d be a good investment to put up more shades outside, and don’t overfill the cups. If you still want to give the same amount of ice cream just use...

The store has Decent gelato etc, but when I go to give a complement to the manager, they are never there in fact a young respectful worker informs me that they appreciate the compliment and work hard to improve more. It’s truly sad that the managers are never to be seen whenever I’m there and it’s genuinely sad that managers take the roll but never do their job, and when we(me and my family) see a customer ask a question they completely forget their there although it may be important no matter the age or color I’ve never seen a customer get brushed off like that. Went back to try this lovely place with a friend of mine and asked if Taylor was working on that particular day! I was told that she is no longer working there, therefore, we decided to leave due to the lack of energy and moral that Taylor gave! Taylor was very friendly, she was knowledgeable, and she smiled the entire time and the kids loved her! I was wanting this place to replace my love for Menchies Ice Cream that closed down in Bastrop years...
