TERRIBLE Experience. Felt sick!
Our family has eaten at Alladin's all over NE Ohio, but this was our first time in Fairlawn and we won't be back! Food was bad, and the response from the manager was the worst part.
We stopped in for a quick lunch while celebrating my girlfriend being accepted into a new job! Alladin's is her favorite restaurant! Things started smoothly, the server was pleasant, but everything took a nose dive when I mentioned my food was badly burnt.
It appeared okay on the outside but the chicken in the wrap was charred. I felt bad and didn't want to say anything but it tasted so bad. It was so burt that it was solid black, chalky and smelled. I mentioned it to her when she came to our table 2 minutes after serving us the food.
She offered to remake the order, I declined because we didn't have any extra time and the service wasn't the fastest to begin with. I asked if she could just discount my order a few dollars and I will eat the unburt portions. She said okay and left the table. The young manager came out and offered me cake or hummus. I was confused; I thought the server would just take a few dollars off our order and we would be good. I decline the managers offer for cake; I actually have food allergies and can't eat a lot of different things.
The server then comes back out, doesn't say a word and puts the bill back on the table, I open it and it is the same price, it isn't adjusted. They never come back to our table. After about 15 minutes I have to go inside and ask about our bill again! It's starting to get really frustrating!
I very nicely, and politely asked for $3.00 off the bill. He REFUSED, and said the only thing he can do is give me a piece of cake. This is so ridiculous. He says it's not his policy to ever change the price of a bill, and then tells me that I should just take the hummus.
They both admitted that the food was badly burnt and should not have been like that. At this point, I I literally feel like he is making a joke out of the situation. The food was terrible, it made me actually feel sick because it was so burnt. I had no appetite! And, if they already messed up one order so horribly, why would I want more food?
I was about to pay and walk out but I wanted to ask him one more question. I asked if he felt that it was reasonable and fair for my food be half burn, and for me to pay full price for it? And his response was "Well, you ate it didn't you?
I could not believe what he just said! The sever even looked shocked by his statement! I absolutely did not eat half of the charred black as can be chicken! It was inedible!
The server then says I'll just take the whole $7.25 off the bill. I'm speechless! ALL THIS NONSENSE WHEN I ASKED FOR $3 OFF?
I paid the bill, left a $3 tip to the poor sever, and couldn't leave fast enough!
5 hours later and my stomach is still upset from the burnt chicken.
I...
Read moreVery disappointed. I went here last night for the first time and ordered the Tawook salad which is grilled chicken tenders over mixed greens, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, calamata olives, scallions, and feta; choice of dressing for 13.25. What came out was grilled chicken tenders over mixed greens with tomatoes and cucumbers and nothing else. No explanation just tried to pass it off as if it was ok that the rest was left off. I had to ask for feta, olives for which I was told they might be out of and then was given 5, and onions which I was told didn’t come on it but was supposed to be scallions. The description says scallions but they didn’t even know what was supposed to be on it. The manager came out with the rest of the salad and explained that the cook was new and had only been there for two weeks. So was it ok that the manager wasn’t checking plates to make sure customers were getting what they were expecting when they ordered? Is it normal to drop your standards and not help your new employees because they are new? I really enjoyed the salad after I told them how to make it but the customer shouldn’t know more about the restaurants food than the employees. Trying to figure out why the manager wasn’t expediting food and making sure the orders were correct before going out. It did take an awful long time to get out despite it not being very busy and they still didn’t get it right. I do delivery and a lot of times this is how the food goes out and customers blame us for missing items but we can’t see the food as the bags are typically sealed and we have to trust that they did their job. Just very frustrating. So, if you feel like doing their job for them then you may enjoy the food but otherwise I would skip this place and go somewhere that will put care into what...
Read moreAlways a delight to have Aladdin's! The freshly brewed teas are a delight. Hummus is one of the best offerings on the menu, with the most flavorful additional hot sauce available to elevate the appetizer. Being able to adjust the ratio of hot sauce to hummus base is incredibly convenient and delicious. You can further personalize your hummus experience with the default offerings of pita, or request vegetables as a substitute if you prefer. Main dishes are served with care and dedication. The pita wraps, in particular the chicken shwarma, beef shwarma, and the opportunity to select additional sides are a great idea for a lunch that's low fuss. If hearty is what you're craving, Jasmine's Favorite rice with vegetables and your choice of protein is a meal with a reasonable possibility of leftovers enough for another meal. My favorite iteration is the lamb, with the yogurt sauce. I also order a second portion of yogurt sauce because of my own well-sauced preferences. The versatility that the menu affords, even in the pitza options, is one of the standout offerings where personalization is encouraged. All in all, Aladdin's is the most frequent restaurant I take first-time visitors to the area. None of my guests have been disappointed with the food and service. We have been to all of the locations to dine in, and we have ordered for pick up. The quality has never wavered. Aladdin's is the gold standard by which we measure other restaurants...
