Fran's Chocolates - Bellevue — Restaurant in Bellevue

Very disappointed with how I was treated here.

I was just walking by, and saw the Fran’s sign, so I decided to go in and check it out. When I arrived, there was one male customer being helped and another male customer just walking in. The guy that walked in was offered a chocolate sample right away. I was waiting for the customers to finish so I can take a closer look at the display. One of the ladies behind the counter said to me “Do you want to make a box?” in a cold tone. I let her know that I’m not sure yet because I want to take a look at the display first. she didn’t offer me a sample or didn’t walk up to me and offer help.

I started choosing my chocolates (with another staff member) and I noticed 2 more male customers come in and the staff member left the counter and approached both gentlemen and offered them a sample right away and was so helpful towards them. Another gentleman comes in through the door and she offers him a sample right away. I stated a couple times to the staff who was helping me that it’s my first time at Fran’s and not once did he offer a sample either.

I ended up asking the lady who was offering everyone else a sample “can I have a sample please?” She was like “…. sure this is the oolong tea truffle. enjoy.” She did not say this in a friendly manner compared to all the other customers she approached.

I know I’m not the first customer who has received this type of service because I read one similar to my experience. It was very obvious that they favour different types of customers. The lady was very cold towards me, and very friendly to the other customers. I wish i didn’t spend $40 here only to receive this...

Hey thanks a bunch today for your service. I was going to get some drinks for my wife and her sister. Oh I arrived at 5:34pm you will understand why I mention this later. So I go in ask for these drinks and I was asked if I wanted to add whip cream and to confirm what size. All is well and normal I called my wife to ask. it is now 5:37pm and all of a sudden I'm told something about a machine not on or something like that and I stay looking because you are open till 6pm correct? And i was told they couldn't do it as I was talking to my wife. Why didnt you tell me that when I walked in about the machine? Oh because I called my wife to confirm what size or if she wanted whipped cream? Then to top it all off some lady storms out the back saying come 5:30 or before. I got there 4 minutes late and you run out to tell me that? I bit my tongue not to respond lady. I GUESS IF YOU GO THERE YOU BETTER KNOW WHAT YOU WANT BECAUSE THEY WILL MAKE SOMETHING UP MID TRANSACTION IF YOU ARE NOT SURE OR IF YOU GO FOR SOMEONE. OH YEAH AND THERES NO PARKING AND I GOT SOAKED GOING THERE ARRIVING 4 MINUTES AFTER 5:30 JUST CLOSE AT 5:30. IF YOU READ PREVIOUS REVIEWS I GUESS THEY ARE LIKE THIS.HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TREATMENT OF THE CUSTOMERS.

They provide services differently by I don’t know what standards.

They used to be like the other frans: Provide the tryout when you purchase, provide one black chocolate with drinking chocolate. But they do it now by giving different people different treatment. I had several time with purchase, they didn’t give me tryout, and no black chocolate with drinking chocolate.

Today, the white family before me with a purchase,they got chocolate tryout and got the chances to choose for each of them(about four or five people). The staff there said to them “We have this and we have that, please, help yourself”, with a smile.

Me and my boyfriend were the next couple, with all two staff sticked to that family, they did not say anything, even a warm welcome note, to us, while we waited there without any instructions or a small apology for the waiting.

And of course, after our purchase, just “please wait here”. The staff just started going back grab a new boxes of pecan caramel chocolate and counting chocolate while we were waiting. no tryouts, no friendly chatting, no black chocolate with drinking chocolate again.
