Yesterday my wife and I had the opportunity to come and check out the restaurant because we are in town for some shopping. This was the first time that we had ever been to legion. Sorry, expectations were super high. We came into the restaurant and noticed the sign that said for us to seed ourselves. So we found a table and sat down and we instantly waited almost 35 minutes before anyone even greeted us. Once we are greeted we were told someone would be with us momentarily and we waited another 15 minutes before anyone came by. A young lady dropped to glasses of room temperature, water off to the table and told us she'd be right back. We wait in another 10 minutes and then she came back by and dropped off some menus. By then we had googled the menus and already had an idea of what we wanted. By the time she came back we were ready to order our appetizers as well as entrees. We looked around and there was only three tables in the entire restaurant. We then proceeded to order our drinks and an appetizer and we also went ahead and ordered our dinner. I was super frustrated because I was wondering what was going on but another server was walking around talking on her phone on speaker while she wiped a few tables off. Why will you waited for her? Are drinks a couple other tables came in and I noticed the waitress immediately graded them and brought them back water with ice in it. Once she brought our drinks we sat around and looked at some of the decor within the restaurant and then set back down. Probably another 30 minutes went by and I flagged down our waitress and asked her how long it would be for an appetizer and she stated that it wasn't ready yet and that they had to melt the cheese on our nachos. I was a little confused because I notice from the photos that the nachos come with liquid cheese so another 15 minutes went by and we finally got our appetizer. Once our appetizer was delivered, I think we waited probably another 45 minutes and we finally got our food. We where honestly impressed with the taste of the food overall but we didn't see our waitress until we asked another server that we flagged down to get us refills on our drinks. So the waitress came over and asked if we needed anything and I told her we needed another drink. Btw there where both non-alcoholic drinks. She left and went and checked on other tables and came back and asked if we where ready for dessert but forgot our drinks. I then asked again and she brought them right away. We then asked for our check. We where really dissatisfied about the service. I would be totally understandable if there was tons of tables, but we were one of three tables...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI review a ton of bars and pubs. I know what opening month is like, I've opened at service places before. This place was an absolute disaster on epic proportions on every level.
Summary first: Fruit flies galore, wrong food delivered (multiple times), loud atmosphere, no napkins, plates, or silverware given, over 15 minutes before water was even set in front of us, and charged wrong at check out.
Now for the story. Thursday night football, bar is busy, we expected longer service times. Menu is limited (due to it just opening this month). Sat at the bar, ignored for over 10 minutes before we got menus. Once we got our drink orders in, we waited and watched. Drinks were being made incorrectly to the point where waitress staff were tasting before serving and telling the bar tenders they mixed drinks with the wrong alcohol and it tasted awful (the benefit of sitting next to the service pick up area). Also, learned they were out of mini ice for some of the drinks because someone failed to set that up this morning and other complaints of bottles of drinks taking over 10 minutes to deliver. (Not surprising as it took over ten minutes for us to even get water.)
Food ordered. We wanted sweet potatoes hushpuppies. That's it. The bar tender looked confused upon ordering, and we showed him the menu and shouted over the bar noise for our order to be heard. Cue the fruit fly attack to begin and continue throughout the rest of the night.
Forever later, sweet potato fries were delivered. We explained "no we ordered the sweet potato hushpuppies" and they took the food away. Five minutes later, more sweet potato fries came to us with a confused server. We explained again that we didn't order it, took the food away, and had no update on hushpuppies. This happened a total of FOUR times before they figured out, oh we didn't order fries! 20 minutes after they figure that out, we get an order of hushpuppies AND (you guessed it) more sweet potato fries! After sending back the fries again, we noticed we were not given plates, silverware, or napkins. We dug in with our hands (Sorry after a long day at work, I was hungry) and first bite lo-and-behold we got original hushpuppies and not the sweet potato hushpuppies that we ordered (by this time multiple times to multiple servers.)
We gave up and ate original hushpuppies (I may never know what a sweet potato hushpuppy tastes like now).
Utterly defeated, we asked for a check. Guess what? They tried to charge for the fries we NEVER ordered!
I have never been so happy to get out of a place.
Do yourselves a favor and head over to Central Bar, better food, service, and...

From the moment you step into Legion Sports Bar & Grill, located conveniently across from the Westin Hotel in Bellevue's Lincoln Center, you can tell you're in for a unique experience. The entrance exudes a red-carpet vibe, setting the stage for an upscale sports bar ambiance that's second to none. This is not your average Bellevue eatery; it's a refreshing departure from the typical "haute cuisine" one might expect in the area.
The food is a delightful journey into Southern Comfort soul food, presented with the class and respect it richly deserves. The flavors are soulful and robust, a testament to the kitchen's commitment to authenticity and quality. The portions are generous, making it perfect for family-style dining and sharing - which is how we prefer to enjoy the menu, letting everyone at the table sample a little bit of everything.
What truly elevates the experience at Legion is the service. Managed by the truly professional restaurateur Leilani Wong, the staff understands that service is one of the most important pillars of a successful restaurant. The attentive and friendly service complements the food and ambiance, creating a dining experience that's hard to forget.
And let's not forget the star-studded ownership. Co-owned by Seattle's favorite Seahawks and "Legion of Boom" members, Eastside residents, and future Hall of Famers, Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman, this place has a cool factor that's off the charts for sports fans. The sports bar/club atmosphere is sophisticated yet relaxed, perfect for both die-hard sports enthusiasts and those just looking for a great meal in a lively setting.
