Let me just start out by saying I am a people person and a pizza connoisseur. I used to weigh 402 pounds and had a higher saturation of Dr Pepper pumping through my veins than blood. I underwent Gastric Byass weight loss surgery, lost 140 pounds, then regained it all back plus an additional 65, all by eating one thing. Abby's Pizza.
My point is; I know food, and my most recent experience with Abby's made me want to never eat pizza again.
It was a lonely Friday night. I spent yet another evening alone. Once you pass the 300 pound mark, let alone 467 lbs, not many people want to spend time with you, or even be seen associating with you. I decided to do what I do best; eat. I picked up the phone and spoke with a "manager" named Kerry. She picked up the phone and whsipered "oh great, it's that overweight guy again". I assume she didn't realize I could hear her because her next words were "Thanks for calling Abby's, what can I make fresh for you tonight". Instead of erupting like a Karen, I swallowed my pride and pretended I didn't hear her because I was on the verge of a blood sugar crash from my rampant diabetes, and needed my 3000 calorie pizza asap. Holding back tears, I proceeded with my order, 3 giant size double meat bbq Chicken, with butter on the top, a 8 piece chicken and 1 pound if spuds, five 2 liter Dr Pepper, and a small Caesar Salad with lite non fat dressing. I requested delivery and was advised it would be at least 2 hours out. I told her that as an average sized American, I expect faster service and due to my looming 350 glucose levels and impending crash, I needed it sooner and asked for an expedited delivery. The manager said she would upgrade me to "Express Delivery" since I give them 80% of my income of Social Security and jt qualified as a medical emergency.
After one hour and 52 minute, my doorbell rang. I used my electric wheelchair to drive to the door to be greeted by an overweight joker carrying a medical specimen bag on his shoulder. I peered over his shoulder to see that he had arrived in a run down "interpath Laboratory" marked Honda Fit car. I asked if he was an Abbys employee, he sighed, shook his head and said "no, I work for Interpath Laboratory and I Uber on the side because Interpath pays me house worker wages from the 1740s of 9.95 an hour. I use their car for the free gas and the lulz. But don't worry, I kept your food warm using the specimen bag". Then proceeded to do the "hang 10 hand wiggle gesture 🤙🏻. I accepted my food and I tipped the man $5.00 for being so polite, he walked back to his run-down Honda Fit marked Interpath Laboratory, opened the door, and so much smoke and the stench of marijuana had erupted from the cabin, It triggered my Glucose Levels to tank and I went into Diabetic Shock. The blood sugar crash caused me to desperately need one of my sodas I purchased. I looked at the bottles, and I was given 3 bottles of Sugar Free Mt Dew. This caused me to become enraged with anger as now my life has been threatened by Abby's incompetence. I discarded the soda across the room and opened my pizza box to see that every pizza I ordered had been turned upside down, and I found myself staring at a pile of crust with multiple burnt portions.
I am a man of a higher class, and i was appalled by the lightly browned crust. Normally I would have sent this back and demanded a remake, but I am now at a point where my very life hangs in the balance due to the Glucose drop. I decided to power through the absolute worst meal of my life as the pizza was slightly burnt and upside down.
I am horrifed by the experience and level of service that I received today. I will be contacting my laywer, Phillip Garrow, as soon as I am released from the hospital due to my...
Read moreAbby’s has always had great quality every time I’ve ordered, except unfortunately tonight. My pizza came with cheese missing in some spots near the outside, sauce missing in some sections, not nearly as much chicken as usual, and toppings just thrown on where you’d have a big clump of onions on one section with nothing on another. I understand they get busy, however I usually order during the really busy times and have never had this happen. I think someone just threw it together with no care, and I expect much higher quality control with Abby’s. I will however continue to order from them unless this becomes a regular thing, because usually there pizza is excellent.
Follow up to my previous review a couple of weeks ago, I ordered another pizza tonight and it arrived the same way as the last one. Put together with zero care, missing toppings in a bunch of places, barely any onions, and a lot less chicken as usual. I called and spoke to the manager Kari Winder, and told her clearly someone in the back doesn’t care about quality or consistency, and she said that wasn’t the case she knows them all. She Stated that they were short staffed (which is understandable nowadays but don’t sacrifice quality, add some time if need be). For a $46.30 pizza with a $5.00 tip to the delivery person (maybe I should have looked at it first) this is definitely not what I expect. I’m a business owner and if I ran mine this I’d be out of business. Abby’s responded to my previous review stating to contact them via email which I did- still waiting on a response. This was also a Thursday night at 6:55pm, not exactly a crazy busy time of the week. I wonder if the owners of Abby’s knows what’s happening to their business lately? I wish I could figure out how to add a picture of the pizza to this review, I have them if the owners/manager would...
Read more99% of the overall experience about Abbys is just outstanding, pizza is Top Notch, potato rounds and amazing, salads are fantastic. There are 2 issues with the food being the pizza crust is hit or miss never the same, one time it's just right thin and crispy cooked just right, next time it's over cooked and soo hard that if your not careful biting into it you could lose a tooth or two seriously not over Exaggerating. Second issue is the chicken wings there just plain bad I don't know if it's just the quality of the chicken or how there prepared but there disappointing especially with how much they cost. Customer service is almost always wonderful there have been times where the woman running the front counter isn't the friendliest and seems preoccupied sitting on her stool while customers keep piling up. Lottery room is always clean and an inviting atmosphere. Keep up the good work Abby's...
