This is not a review about the quality or taste. This is about the fact that a fried chicken food truck randomly decided to get rid of their actual traditional bone-in fried chicken half bird option. Now the only chicken you can buy (at a fried chicken food truck, mind you) is boneless chicken tenders. Despite technically being fried, this is not fried chicken. This is a tragedy. I can get chicken tenders practically ANYWHERE in Bend/Redmond. The half bird was their main seller, their Big Mac, the game changer, the top tier, and the only reason I went to Blumas. Their reasoning for axing it? "We ran out of storage space". How about buying more storage? The half bird literally FLEW off the shelves, it was a dice roll on whether they had it or not due to the high demand. How about doing what every other business on the planet does and adapt by rolling those big chicken profits into additional storage?? Bring back the half bird please. I'm begging you. I won't be going back again without it. This may be an overreaction but we drove down from Redmond specifically to get the half bird and I'm hangry, so don't hold...
Read moreBanana pudding was decent but save yourself the $9 and either make it at home or head to safeway. Exceptionally poor service and very expensive.
Employee was standing outside chatting for a while before acknowledging us and making his way back to the truck. He skipped the hello and got to business, asked for our order with no nonsense and blankly requested name, phone number, and listed the total.
Without washing his hands, and no gloves, he prepared the banana pudding over the course of 3-4 minutes and quietly set it in the window and walked away without a word. We wished him a good day to no avail
I run a restaurant in a retirement home. I can understand having a bad day but there’s no reason fast food restaurants like Wendy’s and McD’s should have consistently friendlier service AND better prices than “the local guy”!
I love to shop local to invest in our community but unfriendly, abrupt service with an apparent lack of cleanliness at a high price is no investment. Bend...
Read moreI can't speak to the food yet because I haven’t had a chance to try it, but I can speak to the owner’s character and the kindness of his team. I got married in June, and my husband is Filipino, so lumpia was a must at our celebration. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication with our caterers, and they couldn’t fry the lumpia our family had lovingly made in advance.
Cliff and his team came to the rescue! I posted in a local foodies group, and Cliff graciously offered to fry all 180 lumpia for us on our wedding day, and he didn’t even charge us. He just asked us to send a few his way. We tipped the cook generously (he was such a good sport about it!), and thanks to them, we got to enjoy the lumpia at our wedding after all. It meant so much to my husband and his family.
I haven’t tried Blumas yet, but I’ve eaten at Cliff’s other truck, Abe’s, and I have no doubt the food is just as excellent as the...
