I had a Yumm bowl " Hot and Jazzy" with a cauliflower option they are offering for a limited time to sub for the usual rice that is under all their deluxe toppings. If I was making the cauliflower I would have opted to steam it aldente or bake as it was a little on the mushy side and had a bit of a water logged taste. It was still a nice option and if I'd been on a low carb diet it would have been a life saver because all the other ingredients and Yumm sauce can carry the weight for taste. I may try it once more to decide if it will be an occasional choice or a "tried it, didn't like it" in my mental book of 'Likes and Don't Likes'. Cafe Yumm is my favorite "go-to"place to eat when I'm taking a quick trip to Bend. The food doesn't take long to get to the table. They can feed a person on any diet, including vegan, and the flavors are always delicious as they use fresh ingredients. Their Vegan Yumm sauces are so tasty I enjoy buying a jar and taking home one of their flavors to put on other foods. I love eating their Yumm bowls with the brown rice option and if I'm giving my gut a rest I'll order it vegan and sub the cheese and sour cream with extra avacado. My hubby can get his meat fix here though too and he has lots of food types to choose from. I like that their menu is diverse and customizable. I've taken many friends here and every time they have loved it and are now hooked themselves. The big freshly baked cookies are a delight I can't resist once in a while and are big enough to half with someone. The cookies come in a half dipped in chocolate or plain. This place is full of options! Read moreOrdered a large as pick-up and when I got home found out I got a large container halfway filled. Probably would have barely filled a small container. They’ve done this several times and I was tired of spending over $20 for about $8 worth of food, so I went online and sent a complaint. Not really my thing but like I wrote, this isn’t the first time they’ve done this. The response I got from the manager was that it was because I ordered a large bowl but requested to have it put in the next largest container, so it just looks like it’s less food. Then offered a refund.
I smelled a rat so I dug a little deeper. This is what they say about their container sizes and how it works if you ask for the next largest container, copied verbatim from their website:
Ask our cashier for the next size up container, and we’ll put a small bowl in a medium container or a medium bowl in a large container. We are happy to do that upon request at no charge.
While we do not have a next size up container for the large Yumm! Bowl, we think a Yumm! Wrappit® is just as satisfying.
So basically the manager of this location decided to lie about a stupid thing like this instead of just doing the right thing and saying that yes, I was shorted a good amount of food which I had paid for with the money I worked very hard for in a job where if I lie about anything I’ll be immediately marched out the door.
They can keep their refund. Obviously the measly profit they made off this order are worth more to them than a long term repeat customer, as well as that customers’ family, because I and several other people will never give them another dime.
I would suggest you do the same. There’s plenty of other options...
Read moreFood is good but the 3 young girls working front were not!!!! I ordered food for pickup and when I walked in to pick it up I was surprised to see nobody was there. I walk up front expecting to be greeted at the least but all I got was a collective side eye from the girls working up front. Then one of them (shorter,darker hair maybe 17/18) pushed passed me to order herself food. Literally shouldered in front of me like I did not even exist, it was beyond rude! I did not say anything since I’ve worked customer service and assumed she could’ve just been going on a break so short on time🤷🏼♀️ After ordering she proceeded to stand and talk smack about other employees/ drama about the workplace for like 5 minutes, super unprofessional! When she walked away the girls who took her order followers her to the back to continue talking…leaving me standing yet to be helped. Finally one walked out and looked at me then said “oh,did u need something?” When I stated I had an online order she handed it to me while still chatting to other employees and not saying anything else. I had such a bad day and even just a smile or “have a good night” would’ve been nice. I did not get upset and remained patient the entire time I was being ignored. Shame on you three girls for...
