Not NEARLY as good as it was 10+ years ago. Decided to give this place another try after coming here a year ago & being disappointed. I had to take away another star, unfortunately. Back when we lived in Bend 10+ years ago, it was the BEST sushi place in Bend. Since then, they've quit making all their in-house sauces gluten free for the sushi rolls. I used to be able to get pretty much ANY roll Gluten Free, now my options are sorely limited & I can't have Any sauces on my rolls. It's highly disappointing. The food does not reflect their prices either, you're charging 3-4 star prices & serving up 2 star quality food. Your sushi rolls fall apart instead of holding together like they should. They don't taste as fresh anymore & some of them taste like absolute TRASH. You could probably fix that by bringing back your old way of making the sauces Fresh & gluten free & use fresher fish. Also, at the end we got told that we HAD to tip at least 10%. My husband said, "Technically we don't have to tip Anything, but we tipped what we thought the food was worth and that's not much." We won't be back. We'll find another place. I don't know who is managing this place now, but you're doing it all wrong. The waitresses were Super friendly, so you get 1 star.

We stopped in here because we like the ones near Portland and love sushi in general. Unfortunately, half our order came and then we waited a good ten minutes+ for the rest. (3 of our group of 5 had nothing in that time.) When the orders did come several were wrong and my salmon was charred on the entire bottom and sides- AND the waitress saw me flipping it over to find an edible bit but didn’t seem to care at all. Every time we needed anything at all (forks, water, wasabi/ginger she forgot, even the bill) we had to track down our waitress ourselves, and this is a restaurant you can see clearly from front to back. The dressing on the salad had clearly been sitting a while and was dried out. I would never eat here again, and I’m not one to write negative reviews or give up on a place. This is a poor representation of Mio Sushi.

I have been to several Mio Sushi establishments in the Portland metropolitan area, and this location several hours away still holds up to the same quality of food at the other places. I've always enjoyed the beef udon and green tea. My family was a bit disappointed that this one does not have green tea calamari like other Mio Sushis we have been to, but we also understand that different locations offer different specialties. The service was pretty quick and the restaurant was clean. The food offered is of a good price for what you get. It's a reliable place to eat out, either alone or with others.

I just wanted to go to sushi with my friend because she’s leaving so soon and I’m gonna miss her so much. We ordered a lot of sushi because both of our parents asked us when we left to bring them sushi when my friend went to the bathroom. The lady came up to me and told me that I ordered too much food. I asked if they were about to close soon that’s why she just said no and that I ordered too much food and that I would be too full and that I was fat. even though I’m an eighty nine pound sixteen year I have a severe eating and I have not eaten in days and she has the nerve to say this to me. I then take a few things off of what I wanted to get from the menu we get our food and then she tells me that I ate my food too fast considering I have ate in a few days I mean, I feel like I ate at a pretty good pace, I had leftovers and I said that I knew that I was saving it for my family after we get the bill we pay the exact amount and then I leave a six dollar tip. She tells me that that wasn’t enough and that I need to tip more and I told her I already put a tip and she said she knew but it wasn’t enough and made me tip 10 more dollars and total they got a $16 tip that they didn’t deserve and now my stomach hurts and the food wasn’t even that good and I wish I didn’t spend my four days or not eating on that and now I have to start myself for another seven days because of this place of this place. I will in fact it not be coming back to me sushi let’s also talk about how the mio soup was so salty that I had to drink so much water and I’m gonna feel so dehydrated in the morning with a puffy face for one of the first weeks school will not be coming back and I do not accept...

Having heard glowing reviews of Mio Sushi, I ventured there with high hopes, eager to indulge in some authentic Japanese cuisine. However, my experience at this establishment left much to be desired.

Let's start with the service—or lack thereof. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the staff were overwhelmed and understaffed. Despite the sparse crowd, it took an eternity to be acknowledged and seated. Once seated, our waiter was nowhere to be found, leaving us to flag down passing servers for even the most basic requests. The lack of attentiveness and professionalism was truly disappointing.

And then there was the wait. Oh, the endless wait. I understand that good food takes time, but the interminable delay between placing our order and receiving our sushi was utterly unacceptable. It seemed as though the kitchen was operating at a snail's pace, with no sense of urgency or efficiency. By the time our food finally arrived, my appetite had all but vanished, replaced by frustration and impatience.

As for the food itself, it was passable at best. While some dishes showed promise, others fell flat, lacking the freshness and flavor that one would expect from a reputable sushi restaurant. Perhaps if the service had been more attentive and the wait more bearable, I would have been more forgiving of the mediocre fare.

In conclusion, my visit to Mio Sushi was a regrettable experience marred by subpar service and excruciatingly long wait times. While the restaurant may have its loyal fans, I cannot in good conscience recommend it to others based on my...

So this used to me my favorite sushi place to go to. I have never written a review before, but I am just so upset. Over the last few months I have tried again to give Mio Sushi another chance, but everytime it gets worse and worse. I went there a few days ago and I tried to make a reservation, but they said they don't take reservations and to call ahead 45 minutes before to give them a heads up. So I did that. When we arrived there was a whole area where no one was sitting and the server asked our group to wait. I told them that I called ahead but apparently that didn't make a difference. We waited for 20 minutes, until they finally sat us. I made it very clear to the server about how the bills were going to be split up. We waited an hour to receive our food. I ordered an appetizer and that didn’t even arrive until after thirty minutes of waiting. The food was cold, one of my friends never received what they ordered. Another person received something they didn’t order. The tuna was old and dry. Our food that was supposed to be hot was cold. My regular dish didn’t even come with all of the ingredients. When we were checking out the server messed up all the bills even though I made it very clear. We had to wait for another 15 minutes just to leave. The server blamed me for “splitting up the bills weird.” I finally was just like “Here is the money, we are late for our event so I can’t spend anymore time here.” This business has really gone downhill. It used to be my favorite, but now I just can’t take it anymore. I will not be...
