Regal is a consistently good movie provider, though some of their locations manage to be truly great. This is not one of them. Their exit sign (at least in theater 2) projects a tiny red dot on the screen which can be a much bigger distraction than it might seem. Once you see it you can't stop seeing it and it kills the immersion. Another issue, which is not the theater's fault, is that Bend has the kind of audience that is so comfortable at the theater, it's like they are at home on the couch. Expect frequent talking, laughing during serious scenes, and people asking each other questions about every detail of the movie. Again, not a theater issue, but if you like to be immersed in the story, maybe wait til it goes on demand somewhere. I also encountered a sound issue while watching Star Wars Episode VIII which almost destroyed my ability to hear people talking through the movie, which would've been heart breaking. They did rewind it, but the sound was still off, and I still think about how hilariously bad that experience was to this day. These issues aren't so bad as to make me stop coming here, I'm a big fan of the theater experience and very few things could make me stop coming to the big screen for movies. I just like to let people know this hasn't been indicative of my theater experiences with Regal. It's still a good theater and I've had no issues with staff or not having big name movies available. This is my home theater now and it's taken a bit of getting used to but I'm starting to be able to ignore some of the short comings.
Decent theater, clean, good staff, but with some minute issues that some (like myself) may find...
Read moreI've been going to this theater since they opened. They have all the most anticipated movies without fail! IMAX 3D really is the way to experience a movie!
They do a pretty good job of cleaning so I rarely have sticky shoe noise during the show. The seats stink? I haven't bothered to stick my nose in a place where thousands of butts go, nor have I smelled any bad odors.
Yes, the ticket line can get a bit long but I found that if you stop by during the lunch hour, you can walk right up and buy a ticket for a later showing, even the next day. In reality, the longest ticket line I have ever seen had probably 50 people in it and that's really not that bad. I usually show up at least a half hour before showtime to try to get my favorite seats.
They recently rearranged the single snack line into multiple lanes like a grocery store. I prefer a single line feeding all the stations as I feel it moves more quickly.
As for the people complaining about how they don't have certain movies, Regal is a business in the business of making money. Regardless if a movie is up for an Oscar, it may suck. If only 20 people in town are going to see a movie, it won't get much screen time. I'm pretty sure movies like The Hobbit or The Avengers are going to be money makers so naturally, they will get more screens. I know I'm not alone when I look at a preview and say "That's a renter." Some movies don't really need to be seen on the big screen. Those movies usually get less screen time.
Overall, I think the staff here do a great job here and I will be going to many more movies here in the future. Now let's see what's playing...
Read moreSo we went out to watch a movie last night at the Regal Old Mill Stadium 16 & IMAX purchased our tickets and went to go eat before the movie. Came back a few minutes before the movie was to start, and as we stepped up to the ticket taker inside the lobby I was told I couldn't go in because of my pocket knife. My pocket knife was inside my pocket, and the clip was visible on the exterior of my pocket. I said are you serious? And the ticket taker said yes i am, you will have to go put it in your vehicle. I turned around and walked out Ty asked what's going on as he hadn't heard what the guy said. I told him, he raised his shirt and said you mean like this? Showing his pocket knife clipped to his pocket, the only difference being his was hidden by his shirt tail, I said yes. I unclipped mine and stuck it in my pocket and walked back in, and got in line again, saying unless he's going to frisk me he can't prove I have it, and if he does he will find a whole lot more, went through the line and watched the movie. Regal Cinemas was willing to disarm me, but how many other people were there with pocket knives which weren't visible. I have carried a pocket knife my entire life from about age 3 till now, 52 years and never hurt anyone. Needless to say, I...
