First let me start by saying we love Pastini's. Everytime we come to Bend this is the first restaurant that we go to, sometimes its the only place we go. We have celebrated birthdays and Anniversary's here and today we were celebrating our daughter's engagement. We had every intention of booking Pastini's to cater the rehearsal dinner in June. We were in Bend with our daughter who was trying on wedding dresses, along with her soon to be mother-in- law and maid of honor. We were starving and called Pastini's which was just across the street from where the bridal store was. We asked about outdoor seating and he told yes they were open and there was only one person ahead of us, we said great we'll be right over. When we got there (literally not even 2 mins later) we stood there for about 5 min before we ever saw any one (we all maintained social distancing) there was a couple with a baby ahead of us picking up a to go order. They were given their food and when the young lady looked in her bag she asked Cassidy for some silverware. He became irritated and basically tossed them at her. He then looked at us and said "yes" and my daughter replied I just called asking about a table for 4 for lunch (it was a little after 2pm). He responded "well there is a 45-60 minute wait" My daughter responded "I just spoke to you and you said there was only one ahead of us and we were just across the street" he said "well now 4 more people are ahead of you". We were all stunned and just kind of starring at each other when Cassidy said "unless you don't want a heater and then you can take that table" my daughter said sure and he grabbed menu's and silverware and then shoved them into my daughter hands and said "you can go sit your waiter will be out shortly". We went out to the patio area and there was literally 2 couples sitting at 2 tables. There were 5 open tables, 3 with heaters, and 2 by the fireplace. When our waiter came out I said can I ask you a question, I'm a little confused. He said sure, I said we were told that there were no tables with heaters but there are only 2 tables taken and all of the other ones open, I guess I don't understand. The waiter replied "well we are kind of slammed right now, but you guys can just move over to a table with a heater". We asked him which one and he said which ever one. We thanked him and he told us that he would go get us water. About 10 min later Cassidy Bailey came over to us and said "ladies I told you that these tables were taken and you need to move" I replied that our waiter had told us that we could move over here and he moved us. Cassidy replied well I told you it was taken and you will have to move or leave. I could not believe that we were actually being treated this way especially here. We all stood up and decided to leave and I said well thats disappointing so much for that plan. While walking out and still seeing no one there I walked inside and decided to tell Cassidy that I did not appreciate his rudeness, I was shocked at the service and because of him Pastini's just lost a catering booking. His response "have a nice day". Never in my life have I ever been treated so rudely and I can say I am completely disappointed that Pastini's would even have someone like Cassidy Bailey working for them! Not good for your business and I hope that maybe taking the time to write this review it will give the owner's some insight as to who is working for them. Unfortunately after today's incident Pastini's will not be our fist...
Read moreWe tried to have a nice night out on our weekend trip in Bend, as we've had good experiences at other Pastinis. Unfortunately, this dinner was awful. We were told 25 minutes for seating (expected for a busy Friday night) but it took over 50 minutes. Each time we went to the host desk to check on our status, it took several minutes to get anyone's attention. Numerous staff walked by and ignored us and other waiting customers. We were even told we couldn't get a drink from the bar until after we were seated. What's the point of the bar?
When we finally got a table, it took almost 15 minutes just to place our drink order. We kept watching so many staff around, yet no one seemed available to help us. The waitress barely checked in on us. Our food took well over an hour after ordering, which might be expected at a fine dining establishment, but not here. And the quality of the food wasn't even worth it.
We asked our waitress about the delay, and she seemed utterly clueless, as if it was her first day. She mentioned that the manager was too busy to talk to us but offered us free food and drinks if we didn't want to keep waiting. We were hungry, had already waited this long, and just wanted to know what was happening with our food. It was a bizarre offer and odd that the manager was unavailable and preferred to give away free food rather than fix the problem at hand. We watched other tables around us, and they seemed to be waiting just as long. We chatted with another couple, and they said it took 45 minutes just to get their starter salad and were also upset. I suppose we were all in this together. They aren't even making the pasta fresh, so why would it take so long?
When our food finally came, the presentation looked messy, as if a big scoop was taken out of a shared pot and slopped onto the plate. Plates and forks weren't clean. Everyone's entrees were different sizes, with some skimpier portions. There was barely any cheese, and the drinks were very watered down with hardly any taste of alcohol. This restaurant has such a beautiful spot on the river, but it is a disaster here and we definitely won't return. It felt like no one was running the place, the waitress was nice but not helpful or attentive. Also, do you really think free dessert is going to fix every problem when you have to wait another 20 minutes for...
Read moreI cant believe I'm writing about this but it has to be known. The way Pastini handled this was so awkward that it turned something funny and totally forgivable into something irritating for us THE GUEST. The group we went with have all been in the service industry most of our lives so we've seen it all! We've apologized to guests many times, for ourselves and for the cooks. We've been yelled at and we've been through it all. Mistakes happen. How do you see that a USB DRIVE was in a customer's dish and not try to make it right! My husband, our buddy and I were about ready to eat as we have many times before here, and noticed a USB drive in my husband's food. It was HILARIOUS! I thinks that tops a lot of experiences I've had at restaurants. How did it get from the cooks, to the manager, to the food runner and then through the server without being seen. I have no idea! Haha the funny thing is that there's no "customer probably put it in there to get something". I'm sure you've probably looked at the videos and the drive itself and knew you were in the wrong completely. What was weird that they didn't really seem to care top much(maybe to not draw attention I don't know), but then they go remake the dish and it's just basic spaghetti with no meatballs, cheese or garnish so it was wrong. I would want to make sure it was perfect next time around. Then when the bill our buddy wanted his seperate and the server goes, "well I already had to take off the dish..and printed it out. So it's going to be a process to split it". I'm sorry what hahahahaha 😅 How do you give me an attitude, give me the wrong dish back and have a USB in my food! I feel like restaurants just don't care anymore. I was really annoyed by Pastini on this. We spend the money and expect good service. I don't know what happened here. Pastini never reached out to us either. I was expecting an email or a call something. Will never come back here. This was the weirdest, most annoying thing. It could've been made to be a funny story but you guys were so concerned about getting us out of there and dodging us that you completely neglected the one thing that is crucial to a business, word of mouth. Very let down by how it was handled. Go back in your records and my Facebook posts about this. How was this...
