Planker Sandwiches — Restaurant in Bend

Updated my review after receiving a kind response from the owner. The food is worth trying, I recommend it! Just be sure you understand where to wait, how to pick up, etc since it’s chaotic. —

We had a mixed experience here. Our food was delicious (turkey sandwich & ham/cheese panini), but the service was rough. It was our first time here so it wasn’t clear how they did things. We ordered to-go, and when they dropped our bag on the counter, they didn’t announce my name but I saw it on the ticket underneath the bag. I waited a beat and when it was clear they weren’t a “call your name” kind of place, I figured it would be fine to take. When I reached to do so, the BOH staff scolded me. Then asked what my name was, and when I told them, said “oh, okay, that’s yours.” Great food but leaves a bad taste in your mouth to, as a fully grown adult, be scolded in front of everyone. Finally, I had an opportunity to try out this local gem! I can't wait to go back and bring the hubs! I had the breakfast sandwich "Tomato Muffin" it was delicious and fresh! I loved that the yolk was just a tad runny and oozed onto the rest of the sandwich. It was delicious, and I've been craving ever since! I'll have to keep going so I can also try all the other amazing sounding menu items. I had a hard time choosing just one! I did take home the Tomato Basil soup with the grilled cheese paninni for my husband's lunch. He was nice enough to let me steal a couple of bites! Absolutely delicious!
