I thought I was being clever by downloading DoorDash and ordering ahead of time to bypass the stupid long line. Nope.
Placed order 9:12 and it says estimated pick up time 9:42. Got there 9:41 and they said it's not ready because I'm early. I asked if they got another Linda in the hopper because I'm a minute off. I showed her my phone at the window and the worker said their iPad shows 10:05. What is the point of having an estimated pick up time when you're 20 minutes off the mark?
Oh, and they also ran out of strawberries so my order wouldnt be possible anyway. I ordered my coffee extra hot because I anticipated that if the order didn't work out at least my coffee wouldn't be cold when I get it. I highly recommend doing that because it's the perfect temp upon drinking now. We ordered what they had with bananas and said we'd be back 20 minutes later at 10:05 to pick up.
I set my alarm, we walked around and came back 10:05. It's 10:15 and my order is nowhere in sight, except the coffee, which came without whip I had to ask for it and show my phone to prove it. They said it's going to be another 5-10 minutes. Not sure how much longer we got but I could've gone somewhere else to get what I want.
Update: order was actually ready in its entirety at 10:30 so you can bank on them being off on time no matter what way you order.
they clearly only have 1 crepe making machine. Which makes sense why the orders take so long. Not sure how you can run out of strawberries by 10am when your menu only offers bananas or strawberries, and strawberries don't go bad within a day. Inventory and equipment are an issue here. Not the best crepe I've had, but I can say that at places where I have had good crepes, there's an open kitchen so you can see the person making it on TWO crepe machines. It makes sense to have 2 so that you can make double orders faster (most people come as a pair not solo).
Banana slices were cut for someone who has a hella big mouth, quadruple size from what I've seen in a normal crepe. Summary: Look elsewhere for breakfast. Pumpkin latte was okay.
CBD shot didnt do anything for me (not their fault) and the whip cream was decent and probably the best part of the pumpkin latte drink I ordered, which isn't saying much. Again, I've had better pumpkin lattes where I can actually taste the pumpkin, unlike here. With how busy they were I wouldn't be surprised they got it wrong and I'm drinking something else entirely.
Wanted to like this place but it seems like it's popular because it's the only game in...
Read moreIf there is one type of breakfast food I loved the most (besides omelets and egg benedict), it is a savory crepe! I rarely find savory crepes on the menu at many brunch/breakfast spot soo best believe I was absolutely delighted to come upon this place. On the menu, they made it clear they offer both savory and sweet crepes, and the selection isn't too bad.
I got the double cream salmon crepe for $13.49. The price of this crepe was a bit expensive considering the portion and the presentation was alright. It looks like a burrito the way they wrap it. However, when it came to the taste-- it was phenomenal. The salmon with the cream was a perfect combo of salty and savory. The wrap they used was soft and easy to chew.
My friend got the Strawberry Field Forever Crepe. He said it was delicious and a great lunch. I thought the presentation for this crepe was a lot better, but definitely not better than the Japanese crepes. They were also pretty generous with the strawberries.
And lastly, I also tried one of their seasonal drink-- the pumpkin patch. I got it as a hot drink and it was pretty good. Reminds me so much of Starbucks pumpkin drink but I love that it wasn't crazy sweet. The drink had a very prominent pumpkin flavor.
Please do note that when I went, the wait time was 30-40 minutes. It can get really busy here and they even have a drive through as well. The parking is very limited but my friends and I were very lucky to find spots to park and a table. They have outdoor tables...
Read moreBr prepared to wait over 40min (yes, seriously).. but hear this out. I wish they were more consistent. I loved the fireside the first time I had it, the second time I ordered it, it was almost completely different outside of the crepe itself. The caramel was less and had a runnier consistency (not from the warmth of crepe), there was no whipped cream the second time around, which was super disappointing as that really makes this one... and the worst part, was the apple inside mixture tasted completely different. It's a but if a bummer when these touristy places bank off of tourism and not repeat customers. The jelly crepes are very good and so far have been consistent. The dark side with bananas is a little hit n miss on banana ratio. One time it's well proportioned and this last time it was overloaded with bananas .. The wait here.... is next level LONG. Wait times when there is no one outside is the better part of 15min. If there is anyone around, be prepared for half hour to as much as EVEN AN HOUR if you want a crepe. My first visit was about 35min, second visit was 30min, 3rd visit was 47min and this last visit was a lull, no one in line, and was 19 min. The coffee wait however is fairly normal. Their coffee is smooth too btw I definitely recommend over big bear roasters nearby. Anyway over all I would recommend this place, I just wish they could find some ingredients that they...
