As someone who used to work here, DO NOT COME. The staff is treated like garbage, upper management is actually useless and incompetent. It really sucks because the employees are great most of the time. Yet the property manager keeps hiring useless employees who 1) have zero experience and 2) DONT EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH. These employees get more hours than the ones who actually know what they're doing. This place is a complete mess. Regarding the poor experiences and 1 star reviews, Copper Q is located smack dab middle of the village. It gets very busy during the winter. Especially because Big Bear has the closest ski resorts to every city in Southern California. Sometimes its a line out the door all day. I have no doubt that this is one of the busiest coffee shops in SoCal so have some empathy people. As a former employee most of us would work HARD. This place has so much potential but Scotty the owner doesn't give the time to it and leaves it up to useless Kelly (the property manager) who (allegedly) drinks on the job. What a joke. It isnt all bad though, Laura, a baker works so hard to maintain the pastries and baked goods. Vanessa is such an amazing cook and makes the greatest soup ever. There are amazing people here and everything is high quality. (Though it isn’t $8 medium latte worthy) It is simply poor management and general disorganization that is its downfall. The Copper Q was previously owned by the Stalcup’s and they did such an amazing job (or so i’ve heard by a lot of customers) All these customers would ask me the same thing. “What happened to...
Read moreI've visited once a day ago, and twice the day of the review, and only ordered once. I would say that the customer service is lacking, substantially. The only polite person thus far has been the cook.
The overall atmosphere (no matter who's there) is reluctance. They don't like to acknowledge you.
To keep it short the last visit for lunch the cook was trying to get the attention of a staff member (an older gentleman). Understandably he was talking to a fellow employee. However, instead of responding he looked over, acknowledged I was a customer looking to make an order, and continued his conversation. A few moments lapsed and the cook called him again with no response. I politely told the cook I'll be leaving and might come back later. A similar situation happened in the morning when I ordered breakfast.
A cordial response would have been "Good afternoon sir, I'll be right with you in a moment".
I would recommend 'Rewind Collective' down the street from Village Pizza. The employees are friendly, welcoming, and responsive to your needs. They take great care with their products.
Not looking to have my back rubbed and feet massaged. Just be treated with decent respect. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. Seems as if they don't want it. I get it, I used to work in customer service, but, still...
I will say, their interior design...
Read moreSeriously I would not recommend this place‼️I arrived at 7:45am. The door was locked! A gal was just on the other side of the glass setting up chairs. Even though I was 4’ away on the other side of the glass she completely ignored me. I asked her through the window when they open and she held up 8 fingers as she glared at me like I was bothering her! Google and there web site says they open at 7:00am. The sign on the door says they open at 7:00am! It’s feels like 16 degrees outside 29 degrees actual! So I go sit in my truck I come back at 8:10. Still not open! I sit outside for another ten minutes. Finally she opens the the doors and walks away still no acknowledgement of me sitting right outside the door! At this point I definitely wasn’t feeling welcome! I order a latte and a scone from another young girl who had a luke warm attitude. I saw on there billboard breakfast items, so I asked the gal who was opening the store earlier if the kitchen was open? She just gave this blank stare and shook her head no! As I sat and drank my coffee I started looking at there reviews. There were quite a few 1s and 2s with similar remarks about the poor to no service! Too bad because it’s a very nice ambiance but seriously I would not recommend...
