I hope this message finds everyone well. It's with great regrets that I leave this review. We went in there today and my fiance purchased some venison jerky. After she paid and it was still on the counter and in the bag that the cashier placed it in we asked if it was gluten free. She said no and we said well what do you have that's gluten free.. My fiance is gluten sensitive maybe even celiac because it wrecks her stomach when she eats it. We then picked something that was gluten free and was the exact same price. The bag is still sitting on the counter and never left the store. We asked can we just exchange it? We were told no. I understand if we had left the building, but we didn't and we're shocked. She asked if I wanted someone hire up and looked at the door behind her as if she didn't even care. She didn't want to seem bothered. I own several business's and can't understand how they couldn't accommodate someone with gluten sensitivy especially since it never left the counter. What a disappointment. Sorry that I had to leave this review, but as they say it is what it is. I will let all my friends know to avoid this place. This is not personal it's just stupid I had to even make...
Read moreHouse of Jerky is a really solid jerky brand, and it puts the grocery store options to shame any day of the week. On the other, I recommend checking out the local options in Big Bear as well.
I shopped at both, and I purchased jerky from both. I really enjoyed that I could get a nice variety during my stay - it's a highlight of this city that there's such a great selection! House of Jerky in particular has some wild options that are less typical (e.g. camel, alligator, snapping turtle). It's not my cup of tea, but it's objectively interesting, and perhaps a...
Read moreThe jerky selection is amazing, and I was amazed. My uncle got the Cajun beef, which was delicious, and the habañero beef, which was really quite spicy. There were so many selections from animals that I haven't eaten yet, that I left it up to fate and asked the lady behind the counter what her favorite type is. She told me "camel" so I bought that one. Turns out her name is Amanda, she's the owner of the House of Jerky, and let me tell you brother that Amanda is about as pretty as the day is long, and not just any day! I mean June 21st, and that's the solstice if you catch my drift. Anyway, the camel jerky was pretty good too. Sweeter than I was expecting, but...
