Really great burger place! The service was slower than it should have been but hey, they just reopened from the whole pandemic nonsense, so I forgive it. I ordered the DECLARATION DAY Burger: Let's start with the patty, killer meat! Not over salted or seasoned. Pure, delicious beef with great flavor. So many burger joints get their meat from the same suppliers and just fall into the salty trap. Not here. This is genuinely delicious meat you're getting. The next most important part of a delicious burger is the bun... thisnplace serves fresh, squishy with a little bit of chew Brioche buns. Theyre very delicious and have great texture. Lastly, the lettuce seemed a bit old but still tasted of quality. The tomatoes were clearly fresh and so were the pickles. Lightly spread with 1000 island and you've got one hell of a delicious, no nonsense burger. Fries: the fries were very generic beer battered fries but honestly tasted great! I didn't expect some unique one of a kind fry here so don't get my wrong. The fries are a great accompaniment to their burgers. Beer battered and fried golden brown with a nice crisp. No undercooked sog nonsense here.. delicious, crispy, seasons battered fries. Delcious Cream Cheese Eggrolls: Beware on this one. I actually had to sneak a peek at the menu on my way out to make sure I didn't miss something... whatvim talking about is a smokey flavor. This completely ruined it for me. It is NOT disclosed on the menu that they have a smokey cream cheese so if you are not a fan of smoked cheese like I am not, it actually makes me a little sick... then avoid these. The shell is crispy and delcious and the avacodo melts nicely in your mouth. They would be great if they offered a non smokey taste option or if they at least disclosed it on the menu. House made Blueberry applesauce: this was a must try. Its a sugary overload of a apple sauce and I LOVED IT! So yes, it tasted like freaking candy more than applesauce but hey, I'm not complaining haha. It has a bit of a cotton candy like flavor coming from something... if you're okay with trying something sweet and very unique, give this a shot. Overall, I was very pleased with this spot. I own a place near the village and will absolutely return here. I did not try the beers as they were overpriced for my opinion. The tourists will happily pay it and I'm okay with that. The theme of the restaurant is music btw with guitars and drum cymbals hanging on the walls. The chalk wall outside is fun.

It was our last night in Big Bear and we were craving burgers and fries. With all the positive reviews about this place we were looking forward to placing a to go order. After many failed attempts because no one was picking up the phone, we decided to just drive on over. They have outdoor seating which means they are very dog friendly (a plus) They were busy; I noticed a table top of 7+ and another of 5+ being cleared away upon walking towards the entry. I really enjoyed the rock and roll atmosphere but was still a bit irritated they didn’t answer the phone. I asked about it and the server said they are short staffed so they just don’t answer, I wish they would leave that on their VM on days they are short staffed. It took about 15 mins to get my order. They had lot of orders coming out of that small kitchen, kudos to the chefs who are working hard back there!! The order Bat Country – Smoked gouda, garlic sauteed mushrooms, grilled red onions, applewood smoked bacon, crisp arugula, garlic herbed aioli on a brioche bun. Comes with fries! 5/5 (An extremely flavorful burger) Aztec Salad – Fresh Romaine and Iceberg mix toped with mangos, avocado, tomatoes, red onion, fried jalapenos, wonton strips and drizzled with a creamy champagne vinaigrette. Add CHICKEN 4/5 (I’m sure if it wasn’t to go the portion would’ve been ample on the plate. Missing a star for to go portion size but overall the salad was delish) A bit about the small business... “We grew up in our small town of Big Bear and wanted to bring an exciting and fun new experience to locals and visitors alike! We opened Fire Rock in 2016 after having our daughter and wanting to start a family business! Offering one-of-a-kind burgers and a rotating list of craft beers, guests can relax and enjoy a musical atmosphere while listening to a variety of rock music! We also have activities and games for the whole family! Ping Pong, Giant Jenja and a “Design Your Own Guitar Pick” kids menus to name a few, you might even catch our daughter Ella drawing on the chalk walls when you stop by! We hope that you enjoy your visit as much as we enjoyed creating it for you.”

1/5 Stars – Cold Buns and Loose Screws! (Literally) I rarely write long reviews, but the fact that this restaurant has a high rating here and that made me choose it, forces me to try to warn others by communicating our terrible experience. From literal hardware in our food to indifferent service and constant mistakes, this was easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. The sad thing is that the place actually has potential. 1. A Screw in Our Food (Yes, Really) The "carne asada fries" came with an unwelcome surprise—a 3/4-inch screw buried in them. When we pointed it out, the waitress barely apologized, casually explaining it "probably came loose from the tomato slicer." She only offered to replace the dish or remove it from the bill, but there was no real concern that we had a literal piece of metal in our food, a kid or a child could have easily choked. She just kind of shrug and had an attitude of "Oops, whatever." 2. Cold, Sloppy Burgers & Terrible Service Every single one of our five burgers had cold, stale buns. When one person asked for theirs to be reheated, the waiter responded rudely, saying they’d have to microwave it—as if that was our problem. No offer to fix it properly, just defiance and laziness. 3. Repeated Order Mistakes (Even After the Kitchen Closed!) Finally, they completely butchered our wing orders — multiple times. We ordered **bone-in wings with buffalo sauce and later ordered boneless wings with half buffalo and half lemon pepper. First, they brought boneless wings with full buffalo sauce. Then, while they were shutting down the kitchen, we reminded them that they had forgotten the bone-in wings, so we literally repeated them that they were BUFFALO bone-in wings. When they finally brought them out, the sauces were from the boneless order (half and half), wrong again. They mixed up both orders and didn’t even have a clue. Final Thoughts Between the screw in the food, cold burgers, rude staff, and constant mistakes, this place is a complete mess. Save your money, there are way better options where the food won’t come with metal hazards and the staff actually cares.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of trying a burger at Fire Rock Burgers and Brew, and let me tell you, it was an absolute disaster. This wasn’t just a bad burger—it was a culinary crime scene that left me questioning how this establishment even stays in business. First off, let’s talk about the patty. It was so undercooked that it looked like it had barely been kissed by the grill. The meat was a raw, pink mess, practically mooing at me from the plate. I get that some people like their burgers rare, but this was beyond that—it was borderline unsafe to eat. The texture was mushy, almost shredded, like it had been sitting out too long before being slapped together. I’m honestly shocked they had the nerve to serve this to a paying customer. The toppings were no better. The lettuce was wilted and slimy, as if it had been pulled from the bottom of a forgotten fridge drawer. The tomato slice was sad and mealy, adding nothing but a soggy mess to the already dismal experience. There was some mustard smeared on the bun, but it was uneven and barely noticeable in the chaos of this trainwreck. Speaking of the bun, it was dry and crumbly, falling apart with every bite, as if it had been sitting out for days. It couldn’t even hold the burger together, which, given the state of the patty, might have been a mercy. The condiments on the side didn’t help either. A pitiful packet of Heinz ketchup was thrown onto the plate, already half-used and leaking, making the whole presentation look like a toddler’s art project gone wrong. The plate itself was a mess, with ketchup and mustard smeared everywhere, as if they didn’t even bother to clean up before serving it. I don’t know what Fire Rock Burgers and Brew is thinking, but this burger was an abomination. It’s clear there’s no care or quality control in their kitchen. If you value your stomach—and your dignity—steer clear of this place. I wouldn’t feed this burger to my worst enemy. Zero stars, if I could give less, I would.

Pleasantly surprised with how hard this burger joint rocks. Spent the day with family up in Big Bear Lake and of course when it came to lunch time, had to try this place. The back-alley looking entrance makes this place look a little exclusive and gives the rock theme some street cred. The place seemed short staffed when we arrived, but the staff did a great job of making us feel welcome. Sat outside and had a good time just looking at the menu. The menu adopts the rock theme and the food fits the genre perfectly. It seemed so we'll put together, that I honestly was concerned the food would be subpar and feel gimmicky. Once the appetizers started rolling out, I nixed that theory. The totchos were some of the best I've ever had and the avacado egg rolls were excellent. The beer they have on tap is decent and they offer flights for $10. The burgers seemed to have a mix of sausage and beef and we're juicy and flavorful. I was truly impressed with everything down to the fries and Mac and cheese. They even seemed to rebread and fry the kids chicken nuggets to kick them up a notch. The place is legit. No gimmicks, just a rock themed burger place with killer food. We will return and hopefully the shake machine is working this time as I would really like to try the beer milkshakes!

Finally got the chance to go here after being on my restaurant to-do list for awhile. There was a hefty wait for a party of 6 so we put our name in for either in or out. They had a table available for outside only with area heaters but we were told the table fire was out of propane. We got seated and it was a little while before any server came to greet us. We ordered appetizers however they came out at the same time as our meals did. It also took 4 visits to our table for us to finally get all the things we needed (side plates for the appetizer, condiments we ordered when first placing our order, another for the correct amount of condiments, and again to bring back a ketchup bottle that was to be refilled when we first sat.) All that aside, the food was very tasty. The best thing was the Jalapeno wontons (they were inhaled so quickly that I didn't manage to snap a pic). The sweet potato fries and fried zucchini were perfectly crisp and the freak on a leash burger was delicious, although I feel they could have been more generous with the Mac and cheese on it. All in all, a positive visit and would definitely come back!
