If you ever find yourself in the blowing rock area and are looking for a place that has that âwelcome homeâ atmosphere, then this is the place for you. My girlfriend, Parker, my best friend, Jake, and myself, Hartley, were visiting blowing rock for a weekend and decided to stop here for breakfast on the way out. Upon entering we were greeted with amazing hospitality. What was originally planned as an in and out meal turned into an hour of vinyl shopping (there were boxes of vinyl records in the restaurant window), shoe shopping, (Parker bought a pair of cowgirl boots), and chatting with other visitors. I would like to take a moment to thank our amazing cook/host for grilling up one of the best hotdogs I have ever eaten. For only $5 too! Not to mention that we felt right at home as we ate our food, laughed, and shared stories with the cook/host. Unfortunately we were on a time crunch and had to get back on the road after about an hour, but had we had more time, I can confidently say we would have spent a good portion of the day there. To the owners, keep up the amazing service, and to future visitors, the only crime that you could commit in blowing rock is not paying this place a visit. Itâs only been 3 days since we were here and I am already looking for openings in my calendar to figure out when...
Read moreThis place is deja vu in the middle of Blowing Rock. The moment you walk in, youâre greeted by classic checkered red tablecloths that remind you of something you can barely put your finger on from a long time ago. Itâs like time decided to take a break here - who can blame it?
The owner is at the counter, ready with hot dogs, pretzels, and turkey kielbasa (amazing - who knew). You can tell heâs got a passion for hot dogs - or maybe just for taking time to greet strangers and have a conversation. If it is a love for hot dogs driving him, itâs an even deeper love for mustardâthis man knows his condiments. There's something comforting about knowing youâre in the hands of someone who takes service to customers so seriously, yet keeps it all light and unpretentious.
The whole place feels like a time warp in the best way, taking you back to when life was simpler, and a great hot dog was all it took to make your day. If youâre passing through, stop by. The good old days are still alive and well in...
Read moreOne of the most welcoming and cozy restaurants I have ever been to!!! My friends and I were up in blowing rock and looking for a bite to eat. We were immediately greeted by the two owners, who were incredibly kind, genuine, and passionate about their business. The prices were incredibly affordable, even taking into account the current economy, and quality ingredients used in our meal!! We ordered the grilled cheese, a few burgers, some sodas, and some fries. The grilled cheese was perfectly crispy and melty, the hamburgers were deliciously and uniquely seasoned and came with various toppings. The fries were soooooo crispy and perfectly seasoned!! There was a jukebox that provided a large selection of classics, and boxes of records available for purchase. We will 1000% be going back when theyâre open, and recommend this wonderful spot to any blowing...
