The Atlas Bar — Restaurant in Boise

When I tell you I was having a pretty bad day, I am understating it. I had an awful therapy session with a new therapist who was clearly not listening to me through most of the 35 minutes I stayed. I had to walk 3 hours just to calm down enough to go for 5 minutes to Atlas. I’m not writing a review for the therapist, because I really just wanted to have something positive to say. At Atlas, Alison, bartender extraordinaire, made me a whisky sour-no, the best whisky sour I’ve ever had. I love whisky sours and I’ve had a lot of them in very different places. I have also had other drinks in places like Rome (Italy ofc), Vienna, Austria, and Naphlion & Delphi in Greece. Atlas has always been my favorite since my bougee cousin introduced me to it. Alison has proven that, in my opinion, Atlas has the best mixed I’ve had in my limited experience of the world. She was having a bad day too, that made the feat even more wonderful to me. I am not sure why there are so many good reviews here. There must be other bartenders than the one we had. She was very judgmental when we walked in the bar, but was accepting of other people. Did not ask us what we wanted to drink and was rude when we ordered. Then I asked for a specific tequila and she tried to put the worst tequila in my drink and my husband has to say something to her. Overall, should not have happened at a business when people are paying money to be there, money that supports her job and the business. Get a new bartender. I went to the Atlas this weekend visiting family, it was awesome. Jake was great and Nick was maybe the best bartender I have ever met, lately when i go to a craft cocktail bar, "mixologist's" are kind of boring and lack personality. Nick on the other hand is a real bartender, he was absolutely the funniest bartender I have ever met, it was like me and my girlfriend were getting a free stand up comedy show and fantastic drinks! If you wanna have a super fun time go in on a Saturday and chat with those guys!
