Boloco - 50 Congress Street — Restaurant in Boston

I ordered delivery from this place. I do not order delivery from places that are far away and this is less than 2 miles from me. It was the worst delivery meal I’ve had in a very long time. First, all of the sides that I ordered. None of them came none at all. The containers were not really put together so the food and the sauce that came with the meal were just free floating around in the bag. This is not a delivery person issue. The bag was sealed stapled closed the way it is required so the delivery person does not see or touch anything that’s in the bag. So they have no way to know if what is on the Receipt is actually in there. They just literally put the food in the container and did not put the lid on any of the lids. There were no lids in the bag just wide open free floating food and sauces that were just all mixed up in the bag. It was a quesadilla, but of course none of the sides came and because it was free, floating in the bag with little cups of sauces that come on with the mail it wasn’t edible. I just had to throw it away. Uber eats and does not refund you. They gave me like a five dollar credit or something I don’t know. But the delivery arrived early and they don’t have any way to know if your order is in the bag or not. I can’t really blame this on Uber eats but I would just avoid this place. Being a chain I won't rate the food - I think it's great and better than Chipotle. I will, however, rate the service and organization of this specific establishment.

For how insanely busy this place gets for lunch it is crazy they don't have a better system for walk-ins. The aisle after ordering gets packed with people waiting for their order while they have 30-50 seats that are largely unused because people pick up, then walk out. I wish there was a better model for filtering people. They also have trash bins right next to the food pick up so people stand in the aisle instead of moving around the corner (where the trash is). And then, when your order is finally ready, they simply "shout" (sometimes whisper it seems) your name and wait for you to come get it which is difficult to hear when there's 50+ other people...

Great place for lunch! Portion size/price was right on the mark. Pictured below is the Original Bowl size. The picture is a little deceiving to look small, but there was a lot of ingredients packed in. I made my own bowl with white meat chicken and to my surprise, there was a lot of chicken in the bowl! Most places similar charge you $3+ for barely noticeable chicken. Definitely a filling meal for under $10 (if you don't add chips + salsa etc.) Very quick service and friendly staff, I ordered ahead online at 11:56 AM and it was ready in the pick up window by 12:02 PM.
