Where do I begin. I went in here with a lot of expectations. We ordered a take-way of 3 kati rolls, 2 egg-chicken and 1 paneer. It was Saturday evening so there was decent crowd but the person taking the order didn't inform any potential delays in the order and we waited.
And waited, and waited and then waited some more.
Each time we tried checking-in, the only response was "it's on the way". It took almost 90 minutes for the order to finally be ready. 90 MINUTES for 3 kati rolls.
Top it off with the fact that we noticed 3 rotis come out to the counter about 40 minutes before we finally received the order. We initially thought it was a part of some other order maybe, but eventually saw those same rotis filled up with the toppings and then put into the microwave to be warmed up. 90 minutes for 3 rolls that were put into the microwave to be warmed up. SERIOUSLY???? I'd rather hit a subway if I want a microwaved chicken wrap and leave with that within 5 minutes.
Upon receiving the order, when we complained a bit harder to improve the service, the guy at the counter argued that they have to keep moving the order. Like REALLY? Moving the order?? We saw folks come in after us, get their food and sit down while we just stood there waiting. I guess they're much more faster with their Dosas and online orders but then they should inform the customer at the time of ordering about the potential wait time.
The food itself was decent nothing too extraordinary. The egg chicken kati rolls actually had scrambled eggs along with the chicken added in as a filling. Never seen an egg kati rolls using eggs scrambled in. And remember, 90 minutes, microwaved!!!!
BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY TIME...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate opportunity to dine at Vaanga, a restaurant that I had high hopes for based on Google reviews. Regrettably, my visit turned out to be a complete disaster due to the abysmal service and tasteless, cold food I encountered throughout my meal. To begin with, the service at Vaanga was nothing short of subpar. It took an astonishing 20 minutes just to place my order, despite being the first person in line. The staff appeared disorganized and unresponsive, displaying a clear lack of professionalism.
I decided to order Idli, a dish that is typically foolproof, along with Plain Dosa and Samosa Burger. However, each item I received was a disappointment in its own right. The Idlis were not only cold but also arrived broken and unappetizing. The Plain Dosa was equally cold, robbing it of its intended texture and taste. Furthermore, the Sambar accompanying the dishes was shockingly sweet, resembling a sugar-laden concoction rather than the authentic, savory flavor it should possess. To top it off, the coconut chutney was watered down, lacking any discernible taste or essence.
This culinary debacle leads me to believe that Vaanga is doing a disservice to...
Read moreWalked in because I forgot to eat lunch earlier. Told the staff I needed something spicy savory and fast cooking. Within minutes, they brought me a DELICIOUS chicken dish with the most delightful creamy sauce. The flavor profile was so rich. You could tell that the spices were cooked at just the right temperature to bring out the flavor but not so hot that anything would burn. The garlic naan was moist and steamy. This meal felt like a hug after a long day in the office. Also, the staff was so kind. I’d recommend this place to anyone.
UPDATE on 10/22: I ordered a chicken singh burger and it was…Perfect! The patty was so flavorful and seasoned. Their custom burger sauce made sure it never felt dry as I chewed. The burger also came with fries! Not just any fries but the most perfect masala fries. I used to think the best seasoned fries were from Five Guys…but it’s safe to say that the Sixth Guy works in Vaanga’s kitchen and makes perfect fries. As always, staff was friendly and service was prompt. Apologies for the lack of pictures. The food smells so good that I’ve already devoured most of it before I can...
