My friend and I went on a Tuesday afternoon. It was empty, which was nice in terms of not having to wait. The place is relatively small--there is an open kitchen with a few seats along it and a few more seats along the wall in front of the kitchen. When you first enter, the host gives you a menu, and you find your own seat. When ready, you come back up to the front to place your order and pay.
I ordered the Kamo Nanban Soba, while my friend had The Dope Yolk and the Tori Paitan Ramen (I think). The presentation for everything was very nice. Although I was able to finish my bowl, I thought it was a little on the salty side. I was also hoping that the duck skin would be a little crispy, but it wasn't. My friend, on the other hand, was not able to finish his bowl at all because it was extremely salty. I tried his and agreed that I would not have been able to finish it either. Even after adding some of his water into the bowl, it was still too salty to eat. Furthermore, the vegetables in both of our ramen bowls were slightly burnt. The char could have been intentional, but I did not really like it.
However, one of the chefs was nice enough to give us a refund and asked for our input so that they could improve these dishes in the future, which we really appreciated.
Overall, the biggest downsides for me were the price (it was pretty pricey for a bowl of ramen) and the saltiness of the broths. However, I liked the presentation of both the place itself and the plates and the friendliness...
Read moreSeeing all the positive reviews, I am surprised that people find the food good. I ordered the shoyu ramen and rice bowl with egg on top. The rice bowl was not very good despite mixing the raw egg in there. I think the rice was supposed to be hot and helps cook the egg but all I ate was slimey rice. The rice itself is crusty too, so it must be old. The ramen was not great. You judge the ramen by its noodles and broth and both taste bland. It is sad to say that there is more flavor from cup ramen than the ramen I ate at Ruckus. My impression is that Ruckus is concerned about looking cool but not concerned about serving good food. For the expensive price they charged me, the experience is not worth it. Also, I agree with the other reviewer. The staff does not act professional and I can see and hear them horsing around in the kitchen. If you do decide to go to Ruckus, please do not assume that their ramen is what authentic ramen tastes like. There are better places to go for good quality...

First, the service is phenomenal. Friendly, knowledgeable staff greet you at the door. Food arrives in minutes. I was pleasantly surprised that the time from ordering to receiving my bowl was only somewhere between five to ten minutes.
Second, atmosphere is great. Mostly stools might mean that large parties aren't going to have great economy in their conversations, but beyond that the shop has a clean exposed brick and wood panel interior, with simple white table tops. Fantastic selection of hip hop music.
Food was amazing. I got the Kake Udon. Broth was clean and clear and full of flavor, and included a large serving of perfectly cooked braised short rib.
