We LOVE The Point!! I discovered the Point when I moved my daughter into the North End for grad school two years ago. Knowing I would be heading back to Boston for my daughters graduation and Mother's day weekend, I reached out in advance to inquire about Mother's day and Live music. Jimmy emailed me back immediately and shared that one of their amazing regular musicians Fred Ellsworth was playing on Mother's Day! This is the email I sent to Jimmy. I cannot thank you enough for everything you did to ensure that my Mother’s Day was wonderful. Everything went smoothly and everyone made me feel VIP! We were greeted as soon as we got there, and the staff knew who we were !! We were able to sit in the actual table that I really wanted to sit in, which was perfect for us. Kirsten our waitress and the entire staff bent over backwards to accommodate us , including bringing all the red wine bottles to the table to show me my options because I had inquired about about red wine!! The mozzarella sticks were delicious as was my Cobb Caesar and my daughter's nachos were great !! My daughter loved her choc martini and had two ! It was so fun with the Bruins promotion where we got the beer and the T-shirts, etc. Plus, the promoter took the picture below, which is one of our best pictures of us! So to recap we had absolutely, the best time ever and Fred Ellsworth was incredible playing many of our fav songs - we also enjoyed meeting his entire family and even danced with his son. The music was perfect as was the venue and staff. It was the best Mother’s Day I’ve ever had. Thank you a million James, the staff and Fred!!

Came on a trip to Boston from NY. Came here looking for a bread bowl chowder, because I saw someone eating a bread bowl clam chowder around there. I asked if I can take a to go order and the man at the front door said yes. I asked him if he had bread bowl clam chowder and he said no he had chowder but not in a bread bowl. I really wanted that bread bowl so I was going to go look for it. Jimmy the man at the front said tell you what, you go look for that bread bowl chowder, come back here and show me it and I’ll give you a free clam chowder from here so you can compare and see which one is better. So I went in a hunt to search for this bread bowl chowder and found it at Boston & Maine fish co. Then went back to The Point and showed Jimmy the bread bowl. He then went and got us a to go chowder. I tried both chowders later in the day. Jimmy was right, they don’t compare to each other. The Point’s chowder was flavorful, thick, had a nice kick to it, delicious!!!!!! Would definitely come again and spend my money here instead because I know it would’ve been even better if I ate it right there and then! The friendliest staff and delicious food!!! Thank you again Jimmy!

I choose this place back in January to host a surprise party in March 2020, the location was perfect they were available when i needed them to be the food and beer selection looked great. I received a response from a " gentleman" named Chris claiming to be the manager of the Point, we continued our contact in setting up my event i then send out my invites as time went on receiving RSVP's or sorry's we cannot make it , it became clear some of the people l had invited were upset at the time and day of the party i invited them to, ( no big deal), however time went on I received a miss call in the beginning of Feb 2020 from the point, i return the call a man on the end introduces himself to me as "Gerard the GM of the point" he says let me call you back from my office, ok no problem, this man calls me back and states, Hi Kim im so and so from the point we just got out of a weekly meeting and it seems we over booked your event for tomorrow ( sometime in Feb) he says we liked to offer you free apps and open bar due to the inconvenience i explain oh no problem our event is not until next month thank you, he insist they do something for me, really its no problem. We end the call no problem. keep in mind i have not reason to believe this person is a fraud. Time goes on my event gets closer im reaching out to Chris at the point & "Gerard" explaining to Chris this "Gerard" guy calming to be the GM of the place contacted me etc. Emailing back in forth with Chris trying to make sure i have enough food etc i explain to Chris this man has offered us free apps due to the miscommunication , ( Chris does not respond asking who this guy is or inquiring about anything) . Its time for my event my guest show up , then myself and the person the party is for, i meet the bartenders who are standing behind the bar on their phones could careless about attending to their guest, introduce myself and ask to speak with "Gerard" surprisingly no one knows who this "Gerard" guy is, i then ask to meet Chris the "manager" which i do, we speak i ask about food and "Gerard" he claims no one by that name exist ok, very interesting. My event goes on as planned no problem, towards the end of my event i speak with them about the bill ( that is suppose to be covered) which is no problem i planned an event and expected to pay. Chris and another male bartender seem to be "concerned" that this guy "Gerard" does not exist they try an reach out to him ( or so they say they did) i try and reach out to him no luck, ok parties over paid for no problem, except who is this man claiming to be the GM of The Point, the next day the man reaches out to me acting like he is concerned that something was wrong , i explain no one at The Point has heard of you etc etc, he claims oh sorry there's confusion im from The Point in Falls River VA and continues to talk about Chris etc and claims Chris has been fried, i share all if this information with Chris, because im still trying to get to the bottom of this no business should be ran this way , i also look into " The Point Falls River VA" doesn't exist, so my wheels start turning i then ask this joker "Gerard" for his business address email etc. He did not like that, so ok, i got punked, i again contact Chris the "manager" of The Point" he claims im going to contact out lawyer this person is impersonating my business ,( ok great why wouldn't i believe him) as i still try and maintain contact with Chris about this issue his response's , questions and behavior become worrying to me, ( wow, is this guy involved with such a mess as a manager) , No he cant be, why would he be what does he have to gain? The question still remains, Chris then stops responding to my emails phone calls and text which to me only make him look guilty of something, the harassment from this "Gerard" has continued, the point of such a review is to the character of the staff at the Point, if you were not involved and cared about your guest experience i would like to believe some sort of contact until resolved would be maintained...

This pub was so bad. The bouncer gave my friends a hard time getting in, accusing them of having attitudes and trying to start an argument with them. Our waitress never told us her name, and was very slow at responding to our tables. Which, the pub wasn't that big and didn't have a lot of tables in total, so there was no reason for her to be slow. The meal my sister ordered had broccoli in it but when our waitress brought it to her, there was no broccoli on it and our waitress said "I'm not sure if we have any but let me go check." Then she never came back to let us know if there was any that could be out on nor did she offer my sister a different entree where my sister didn't get what she ordered. The cheese on my sister's entree was spoiled, it tasted bad and left her with an upset stomach. When given the bill, our waitress never asked if we wanted seperate checks (there was 6 of us). When my sister had a question about what she ordered and how it showed up on the bill, our waitress got her manager to explain it to us and didn't try to help us out at all, her manager basically said that we were wrong and didn't offer to give us a discount or take the item off the bill or accommodate us at all where we mixed up the items on the poorly written menu. We were never grated with a "hello" or a "have a nice day" when we left. While sitting and waiting a good 45 minutes to get our food after we ordered, we noticed that the pub/restaurant was gross, there was dust and dirt everywhere, things were sticky, it felt like the place hadn't been...
