My husband and I celebrated our wedding reception at Canopy Downtown Boston’s restaurant, The Rose, and it was everything we could have dreamed of! The staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect—the dancing space, open bar, and food were all incredible. The ambiance and space were truly one of a kind; there’s nothing like overlooking the Greenway and the North End of Boston. So many of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had! Everyone was dazzled but the location, too!
Chef Gary is phenomenal. We asked if he could make arancini as an appetizer—a nod to our first date—even though it wasn’t on the menu, and he made it happen. They were such a special and delicious touch. Carol, the wedding coordinator, was attentive from nearly a year out and made the entire planning process so smooth. When she was unavailable, Jamie stepped in seamlessly and always with a smile. And Remy greeted us cheerfully every time we stopped by to review details. This team MADE OUR DAY. Without them and there work it simply wouldn’t have been the fantastic and flawless day it was.
The whole team truly leads with servant hearts, filling the day with joy and kindness. We can’t recommend The Rose at Canopy Downtown Boston enough for the most magical wedding...
Read moreMy experience has been that hotel restaurants are typically nothing to rave about. Well, boy was I wrong! While this place does not have a huge menu, there’s something on the menu for everyone AND everyone will be happy with something on the menu! Had the eggs Benedict for breakfast which were just perfect. Tasty potatoes came with my entree and I also enjoyed DELICIOUS and refreshing iced tea (Which was brewed right at the table!). Way cool. For dinner the prior evening, I really enjoyed the shrimp scampi pizza and the 40 clove garlic roasted chicken. I am home now and I’ve already searched the web to find out how to make this delicious chicken dish. Somehow, no matter how I prepare it, I am afraid it won’t be as delicious as the chef’s at the Rose Kitchen. Along with a fine but reasonably priced Cabernet, it made for an incredible dinner with good friends. Very relaxed atmosphere and stellar service. OK, I’ll admit it, the Rose has totally changed my perception of hotel food for good. My only regret is that the next time I eat in a hotel (which is NOT Rose), I feel pretty sure I’ll be disappointed. Guess I’m just gonna have to book another trip to Boston! Check it out… I think you’ll be surprised and...
Read moreWe stayed at The Canopy Hilton and chose the pre-paid breakfast package at their onsite restaurant, The Rose. While our breakfast experience wasn’t quite what we had hoped for, the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating throughout.
Our first morning started a little rough with cold coffee, and the fresh pot, unfortunately, had coffee grounds in it. They didn’t have cream available but did their best by offering milk instead. The servers truly couldn’t have been nicer — they were warm, polite, and working hard, but it did feel like they were a bit short-staffed and overwhelmed at times.
The food itself didn’t quite hit the mark for us, with the bacon and potatoes being overcooked and dry. Hoping it was just a one-off, we tried again the second morning, but the experience was similar. By the third day, we opted to grab coffee from the Dunkin’ Donuts just around the corner.
That said, we absolutely loved our evenings at the hotel bar — the cocktails were fantastic and the atmosphere was great. While breakfast wasn’t our favorite part of the stay, we did enjoy many other aspects...
