Arrived at 8:45pm on a Wednesday. Had a blond female bartender who never introduced herself. With it being 12 degrees outside I had asked if they had any hot drink options. She said outside of a hot toddy, no. I asked if they had hot cider and mulled wine with no luck. I was surprised that hot chocolate or an Irish coffee wasn’t offered, but perhaps these were not available. This bartender showed no interest in engaging with customers. When ordering, I asked how many ribs came in their full rack of ribs. This bartender replied by saying, “I don’t know, I think it’s done by weight.” She never made an effort to find out. Weight..? Since when? Ribs come from an animal with a genetically assigned number of ribs. If the kitchen is offering a full rack of ribs by weight then it’s likely not a full rack of ribs at all. I have since determined that a steer has 13 ribs in a full rack. Regardless, we expressed we were looking to purchase the most ribs at the best value and this bartender couldn’t have cared less. She made no effort to “steer” us toward the value that we expressed we were looking for. I told the bartender that we’d like to get ribs as an appetizer, and I would like my seared ahi tuna salad as an entrée. Then on 2 separate occasions the bartender took the menu away from me even though I had expressed that I was still looking to order a drink. Once I managed to get a menu the bartender never returned to take my drink order. I had to flag this bartender down for every request ever made for our entire experience at BJ’s. She must do amazing side work as this is all that she seemed to care about completing. On 2 occasions she walked away from my friend as he was talking to her about order related conversation. She didn’t excuse herself or anything. She just walked away. In shock, I turned to my friend and asked, “Did she just walk away from you as you were talking with her?” Then it happened a 2nd time! The restaurant was not busy, and ranged from 2 – 5 people at the bar (including me), and only a few tables. Despite ordering our ribs as an appetizer and specifying this on multiple occasions my entrée was served with the appetizer. I again expressed that my seared ahi tuna salad was supposed to be my entrée, and I wanted to enjoy my appetizer first. This server or food runner (slender guy with a dirty blond ponytail) who brought out the food literally said, “ok, it will be waiting for you in the back.” Not only is that completely tacky it’s horrible customer service. Who wants their fish dish aging in the back as they’re eating an appetizer? This was just shocking! The appetizer was a full rack of ribs with roasted asparagus and couscous & cheese (their version of mac & cheese). The ribs were good, the couscous was good, but the asparagus was exceptionally cold. Once I finished the appetizer the entrée was returned to me. The lettuce had soaked up all the dressing and the tuna was now purple and slimy. True to his word the salad was literally just sitting in the back. The plate wasn’t even cold. So, I don’t even think the tuna was removed from the plate so the salad could be placed in the fridge. Obviously, the tuna wasn’t remade. The meal was gross. I wish I had been able to express this to the bartender. Only problem is that she never followed up with us at any point during our time at BJ’s to see if we’re enjoying our drinks, our appetizer, or our entrée. The bartender didn’t return to clear any empty plates or glasses, and didn’t return to offer another drink. She split up our bill incorrectly, and never apologized for any of her mistakes. She didn’t ever say, “good night,” as we left. I have provided a photo showing how I was surrounded by empty plates and glassware. The experience made me embarrassed for the bartender as she obviously takes no pride in her service. As soon as we left the front door, I asked my friend if the next time we go see a movie can we please eat at another restaurant in the area. He was on...

I went in to get the deal that's on TV. They were out of what I wanted on the sale menu. So I opted for something else ( on special). I ordered the cheeseburger ( cooked well no complaints). There was no mention of the accompanying desert. I also ordered the kinda over priced nachos. I say overpriced because the cheese was hard and almost inedible. The flavors were great, but the hard cheese was depressing. Ruined it. This was a pick up order that came to $31 and some change. After not offering the dessert with the special; the server litterally ASKED me if i wanted my change of $40 cash. I always tip. And I get that servers depend on tips, as the hourly isn't so great. Yes I'm going to tip you even though all u did was put my food in a bag. I work hard too, but if your not going to upsell my free pazookie, ( cookie with ice cream) but upsell an $8 tip, I'm low key insulted. I gave it to her but after paying $14-16 for inedible nachos- ultimately paying $40 bux for a burger, I unfortunately won't be back.

My issues- out of what I wanted (advertised on TV) Not offered the dessert part of the special. Some dishes are not good for take out. The Nachos to be specific. And finally the Push/ Pressure for a tip, on a take out order. She didn't push for my cookie and ice cream but she certainly pushed for the tip.

The cookie n ice cream is really no matter, I dont eat sweets. The fact that she didn't offer it as it was part of the special, is not tip worthy yet she asked for it. Sorry BJ's. I've worked in Boulder for 10 yrs, always looking for a good late lunch. I just can't give a good review on a...

Since about August 2015, service here has been miserable. The hosts forget to get high chairs or boosters. The wait staff takes forever to show up and never refill drinks. Appetizers come out after entrees, and worst of all, adult food comes out before kids' food. (Sometimes WELL before.) The managers have tried to be helpful, until today. We had something of a rough day and decided to do curbside (to allow my husband some actual rest, I brought the kids). It's the first time we've done it. The phone was off the hook for 10 minutes, so I ran inside to get someone's attention. By the time my food came out, I'd been there 15 minutes in a car with two small children, not moving. As I was driving away, my three year old wanted to know where her lemonade was - it wasn't there, and I couldn't go back. This restaurant was a favorite of ours because it's close and easy, but I just can't put up with this anymore.

Full disclosure: I thought I had paid online, and hadn't. I called back to ask to have the lemonade removed from the bill and was informed that I hadn't actually paid. The manager was pretty disgusted with me, and I was pretty disgusted with him, but he obviously thought I had tried to dine and dash - which doesn't make sense, since I was trying to correct a check I really thought I had paid. I did pay it, and I hope the poor server who came to my car got the tip. This is the last straw - we won't...

Stopped by BJ’s in Boulder, CO last night located at the prime corner of (Canyon and 28th) at the entrance to the remodeled 29th Street outdoor marketplace! Our waiter Tom was very attentive and so was the general manager: Elka who has been the BJ’s manager for 12 years! The service, ambiance and food was very good and there was no waiting tonight because it was the historic last night of the “Grateful Dead and Company’s” final 3 day concert tour at CU Stadium at Folsom Field! Elka told us that BJ’s had to move about 10 years ago away (from their former location on the Pearl Street Mall, in Boulder) because they outgrew their old location in kitchen and seating area! And it was the city of Boulder who approached them to “jump in” on this prime prime estate location (with the MaceRich Company) …. perhaps even the best real estate location in all of Boulder! That great distinction is well deserved as BJ’s Pizza is now a. billion $$$ dollar company with over 250 locations in beach and college towns!! Congratulations to BJ’s Pizza and Brewhouse !!! I’ll be back !
