While we were staying at a hotel in Frisco, we made the drive to Breckenridge to try Amazing Grace. We were craving something fresh and healthy for lunch, and after searching for a while, this tiny café caught my eye. Despite its size, it packs big flavors.
The restaurant and kitchen had a very hospitable vibe, and as someone who likes to cook, I enjoyed seeing the kitchen from the patio seating.
We started with the freshly baked banana chocolate chip muffin, and it was so damn good. The texture was perfect—crisp on the outside with a happy amount of sugar on top, and soft and moist on the inside.
Next, we tried the Veggie Deluxe sandwich, and it was incredibly fresh. The bread was so good that even as someone who usually skips the crust, I devoured every bite. We also had the breakfast burrito, which was fantastic. The flavors came together, making each bite delicious.
Edgar (I hope I’m spelling that right) took our order and prepared the food with outstanding service and impressive cooking skills.
Out of all the restaurants and servers we have tried so far on this trip, this is my favorite experience. I left feeling energized, not bloated or sluggish—exactly what I was hoping for in a healthy lunch. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an organic and natural lunch. I would become a regular if I lived nearby. #vegetarianbreckenridge...
Read moreWaited nearly 1 hour after ordering for our food to be ready. We would have appreciated being warned ahead of time that it would take that long (we would have gone somewhere else). After I asked where our food was, the servers started pre-warning newcomers that it would take 30 minutes for their food (more like 50 min - 1hr), but we would have appreciated the warning as well instead of being the guinea pigs for the long wait. Fortunately when it arrived, the breakfast burrito was extremely good. But we were so hungry and frustrated by that point we scarfed down our food in 5 minutes and left. Sure it was 4th of July weekend, but we went to other restaurants that were far busier and ate/left in less than the amount of time we spent waiting for food at Amazing Grace. It's a bummer to write this because I totally appreciate the healthy, homemade vibe; the place deserves good reviews for the food and homey atmosphere, and I could tell the staff was working really hard, but waiting that long for your food when you're hungry now just really sucks the enjoyment out...
Read moreAmazing Grace has a really welcoming vibe — everyone here was kind, warm, and treated us like friends. I also loved that their menu focuses on locally sourced, organic ingredients. That’s definitely a plus in my book.
The restaurant itself feels cozy and a little eclectic, almost like you’re eating in someone’s house. (It probably was a house at one point.) The décor isn’t rustic exactly — more pieced-together and charming in its own way. You even walk through the kitchen to get to the outdoor seating, which opens up into a small garden-like area with tables. It has a quirky, homegrown feel that I appreciated.
I ordered coffee, which was good, and the ahi salad. I was expecting something more fresh or seared, but it turned out to be shredded tuna instead, which was disappointing for me since I’m not a fan of that style. It was okay, just not what I was hoping for.
Overall though, the atmosphere and experience of visiting Amazing Grace made it worth stopping in. I’d come back for the vibe and to try something different...
