We ordered take out right before the weekend dinner rush. I know this because the restaurant was empty when I came in and there was a line out the door when I left!
When I arrived, the servers were not very friendly to me. They just looked at me like I was lost when I came in. I guess I was a little lost because I was trying find out if I was waiting in the right spot to collect my order. 😭 They did bring out our food quickly, though, and they offered napkins, ketchup, and utensils which was really nice! Lots of places forget those little things.
The food was really hit or miss for us. The pretzels were too salty, but we just scraped off some of the salt and found them a lot more enjoyable that way!
The cheesesteak wasn’t salty enough, but we had pretzel salt to spare 😅! With the pretzel salt I really enjoyed it! The meat was tender and flavorful, the bun was soft and chewy, and all the ingredients were well balanced! Unfortunately, the fries were somehow cold, soggy, stale, AND bland. I know that fries tend to not travel well, but the drive to our hotel was like 5 minutes, and these tasted like they were sitting long before we placed our order. I only ate half of a single fry before I tossed them.
The snickers pie was fun to try, but make sure you eat it at the end of the day because it is very sweet and rich which left us weighed down for the rest of the day. I scraped off half of the topping just so I could “finish” it.
It was a bit of a bummer because it was the first meal of our trip, and we found half of our food to be inedible, but the bits we did enjoy, we really enjoyed!
If I go back, I’ll just get the cheesesteak with no fries and a...
Read moreWhat can we say…?! We dropped in here trying to find a place to escape from the rain and cold. They were extremely crowded and busy but one of the servers Pete said give me a minute and I’ll be right with you for a table for two. We came in and sat down within minutes of walking into the door. The rain was coming down quite steadily and the atmosphere in side seemed fun, warm, and dry. We started off with some waters. Pete and the other server Keely were really hopping around try to keep the service flowing and we’re doing an awesome and amazing job of it! We ordered the Fingers and Fries along with the Steak Salad and fries. The food was also followed by a drink called The Coop which is similar to a John Daley! Might I say it did not disappoint! It should be noted that our experience was above and beyond thanks to these two people. Pete & Keely run a tight ship and didn’t disappoint us with the level of service we received. To show you how well they cared, another table had already paid their check and were walking out to leave and had left behind their personal belongings consisting of two purses. Keely ran out after them and made sure that they hadn’t left with them!
Kudos to you both for some truly amazing and awesome food and service!
Keep up the great work you both deserve a raise and a good stiff drink after...
Read moreWe were in Breck, first time, and we were looking for a place to eat but didn't want to go to an overpriced tourist place. So what to do, but ask an employee. And another. And another. And they all said the same thing "Its a place you'd never find, totally low end, unassuming, with amazing food at reasonable prices". Many of the employees at Breck go there to eat. SOLD!
They were so right.
It's a 10 minute walk from the village, and you really have to know it's there to find it. You walk in, and it looks like a very low end restaurant until you start talking to people, and you realize that it's really a hidden gem. People that work there are knowledgeable, extremely nice, helpful, and always smiling. In fact it was kind of weird, but yes they were always smiling. I strongly suggest the hamburgers, it's a double smash and if you eat a burger with fries and couple it with the house salad it's more than enough for two people. They have a full bar, very reasonable prices, and you'll just love the place. BTW... Heavy pours. Wink wink, nudge nudge. We'll be black tomorrow for our last night in...
