Killer food and great drinks - highly recommend trying to sneak into a spot at the bar! Key menu clarification bowls = soup.

While we couldn't secure a reservation we were able to snag a great spot at the bar - and staff was really helpful in getting us one. This turned out to be really fun due to the great nature of the bar staff and welcome camaraderie of the patrons also dining in the bar.

Food and service were overall really awesome, the one main knock was the misrepresentation/misunderstanding with the menu as related to the "bowls". That said we'll still give 5 stars for overall experience and food quality.

We started with wings (G-Dub style) - which were really solid and highly enjoyed. The only setback with these was they came similarly timed with the food so we were through less than half before our main food arrived. In the grand scale not a big problem to have but it becomes a question of what food do you go to first and what food do you let get cold? For our main courses I had the Too Beaucoup burger (great FMJ reference) which was absolutely incredible! It was amazingly cooked and incredibly topped. In fact I'll gladly say it was one of the best burgers I'd had in a long while (and I pride myself in seeking out good burgers)!

The low point of the meal was my wife's order of the Pork Green Chile Bowl. The bowl of food that came out was good, but the problem for her was the misinterpretation of what a "bowl" entailed. While she planned on something that would be similar to a noodle-based Asian bowl, a rice-based Mexican bowl, or even a seasoned rice/hummus-based Middle Eastern bowl, what she got was a bowl of soup. Yes, it was in a bowl, but based on the description of "Pork shoulder, fire roasted green chiles, fresh tomatillos and roasted corn topped with melted cheddar-jack, sour cream, scallions and corn chips," she assumed it was something more than just soup in a bowl. Needless to say it was just a nice bowl of white bean chili with green chiles, but nothing to write home about.

Again, food and drinks were really amazing (aside from the bowl misunderstanding). We loved the experience, and we'd gladly try some of their other amazing sounding foods, we just wouldn't order a bowl of...

We were looking for a great hamburger and the concierge at our resort recommended we go to the Blue River Bistro when we went there were told they don't serve hamburgers after 4 and referred us to Canteen as they said they served "mean hamburgers." We walked over to Canteen and were so glad that we did. We arrived at 8:55 and the hostess who was also our waitress very politely handed us a menu and asked us to try to make a decision soon so she could turn in the order with the kitchen before they closed down. We had just come back from a strenuous 6 mile hike and my sense weren't about me. My daughter and I gave her our order. My daughter's hamburger was cooked to perfection and her fries were delectable. I ordered the Caesar salad with Chicken and it was the best I've ever had. The dressing is refreshing and had a great taste to it. The chicken was cooked to perfection as it was juicy and seasoned perfectly. Our waitress, Julia A, was extremely friendly and attentive. She never made us feel bad about arriving so close to closing as most hostesses probably would have. I'm sorry again for not realizing that we arrived so close to closing. As my daughter and I sat enjoying our meal the employees were very friendly, upbeat with not only us but also with the other employees. We felt bad for our late arrival and left a tip for the cooks and tipped our waitress more than the customary 20% as they merited it. Keep your cooks and your employees (cooks, Julia, bartender I didn't get his name but he was super nice) they are an asset to your restaurant! Thanks again for your friendly and attentive service and...

The tap house that was recommended to us was closed so we headed a block north and found this gem. Great ambiance, had Monday night football on the TV which I certainly appreciated. We were seated immediately and the menu was impressive. It’s a biggin’ but that’s because there’s a lot of choices. Great choices and very diverse. We started with the bacon-Wrapped shrimp. A little pricey for 3 shrimp but they were amazing. Bacon was crisp which is generally hard to do when you use it as a wrapping but these guys figured out how to do it. The cream sauce was perfect. I ordered the flat bread carnivore. Delicious. I also ordered a bowl of the green chili because I always try it when restaurants offers it. It was soooo GOOD. I’ve had a lot of green Chile, this stuff was amazing. Perfect heat and consistency. Bravo. My daughter order the chicken fingers. Usually not a big deal. Overcooked dry breasts. Not here, the breading was light and the chicken was sooo tender. Impressive that the kids menu has that much attention paid to it. My son ordered a cheeseburger, it was delicious and perfectly cooked. Fries were great, perfectly salted. Wife had Korean bbq tacos. They were also as good as everything else. Food was delivered in probably 10 minutes. Waitress was attentive and fun. I have nothing to complain about here. Thanks for...

5 nights in Colorado recap!😆🎿🌲🍨🍝 We arrived on a Monday and stayed until very early Saturday morning. We stayed for 3 nights in Breckenridge and 2 nights in Denver. The flight from NJ isn’t too long - about 3.5 to 4 hours! We skied for 3 days at @breckenridgemtn and it was truly unreal! The conditions were so good and the weather was perfect!❄️ I have the @epicpass local pass which gives me access to Vail resorts in the east coast like Stowe, Hunter Mountain, Okemo, & more, plus others parts of the world like Breckenridge Mountain Resort in Colorado!⛷️ Restaurants in Breckenridge we ate at: 📍The Canteen Tap House & Tavern 📍Radicato (our fav!!) 📍Semplice Cafe (got a delicious smoothie here one morning - not shown in video) 📍Mountain Top Cookie Shop (got yummy cookies here one evening - not shown in video) 📍Oaxacan Bites (roadside stand) After leaving Breck, we drove to our @airbnb in Denver. Restaurants in Denver we ate at: 📍Avanti F&B (food hall with multiple options) 📍JINYA Ramen Bar 📍North Italia 📍Urban Egg (amazing brunch) 📍Little Man Ice Cream Attractions we saw in Denver: 📍Red Rocks Ampitheatre (FREE) - we also hiked the easy Trading Post Loop Trail here 📍Denver Botanic Gardens ($15/person) 📍Larimer Square 📍Cherry Creek North neighborhood Happy exploring!😆 #denvercolorado #breckenridge #travelvlog #travelitinerary #skitrip #skiing #breckenridgecolorado #epicpass #airbnb

Aug 2019 I’m in Breckenridge for a short stay and have never been here before, so when perusing the local restaurants I came upon this place. The menu is well laid out and easy to understand. Shown below is the beef & bean red ‘chile’ and the Charcuterie Board, as well as the beautiful view from the patio. The board doesn’t have a set price as it’s according to which meats & cheeses they are able to source at the time but it’s normally around $11-15 according to the waiter (Milo, you did a brilliant job, thank you!). We also had the smoked salmon dip to start, but don’t worry, it is cooked and isn’t overly fishy. All of the food was home-made and tasted incredible. The ‘chile’ was fairly hot but it gave it so much flavour. The only issue was that there was too much food! The staff are always friendly and happy to help, especially when it comes to giving recommendations. I’d suggest that if you’re thinking about ordering beer (they have a large selection on draft) describe to them what kind of beer you like and let them give you suggestions as, according to my dad, they were pretty spot on. I’m really glad that we decided to pick this place for our first meal. Enjoy!

There were five of us and we walked in for lunch at 1:15pm on a Saturday in August. We were greeted right away and were offered to sit upstairs if we wanted to be seated right away. We did, and our server Aspen was lovely. It did seem like she was spread pretty thin, but that did not stop her from being efficient. Our only issue with being put in a booth upstairs is that we were VERY cramped for seating space, and space for our food and drinks. It was all too small. This place has HUGE portions! The Queso Fundido was more than enough for five of us, and was delicious. The tuna salad had five very large pieces of sesame crusted tuna. It was just okay, and the whole salad needed more dressing. The Hoss burger patty was a very weird consistency. It was mushy and didn't taste like anything. None of us liked it. However, there were a boatload of fries that everyone liked. The wings are pretty standard with a hint of smokiness. So if you want a lot of food for your money, this place fits the bill. The Queso was the standout.
