Went to Breckinridge with 5 friends, all in our late twenties. We had been wanting to trying the gold coaster so called ahead to epic discovery to determine if it was even possible to purchase single ride tickets. The lady on the phone said yes it was possible but it had to be done in person and that it was 20$ per person. We though that seemed reasonable so made the trip. We then called a second time to determine where parking was for epic discovery (our cell signal wasnât the greatest so we were calling instead of doing internet searches) the lady that answered the phone this time said parking was at the gondola and was 5-10$ per vehicle per day. We also though this seemed fair. Upon arriving we learned that parking was 15$ per vehicle and that the gold coaster was 28$ per person. That is being lied to by a total of 45$ for doing a single 30 second ride. Furthermore, the staff was extremely rude. There was a guy named âGâ making sure waivers were filled out before purchasing ride tickets. We had a group of 5 adults. He asked if we were all over 18, we were. He then said word for word that we only needed to fill out one waiver for the group because 2 or more of us were related. When we handed in one form a few minutes later he was very rude and made a smart remark how there were 5 of us and he only counted 1 form. Not a huge deal but on top of being misled about the prices and getting attitude, kinda set the tone for epic discovery. After all that it was then $8.50 for a small bag of chips and a candy bar. Ride was only worth doing to say you have done it, nothing...
Read moreWent opening day 2018 (June 8) and was our first time there so bought the Pioneer Pass (3 activities) for a family of 5. Spent over an hour in the bungee trampoline line then they closed due to some maintenance issues. Finally opened. Later we're waiting for the coaster (after being scanned) and it closed due to maintenance. Had to go back to ticketing and get new bands with revised count. The lines got longer as the day went, but nothing like amusement park lines. It was a warm day and the sun is intense, would recommend hats and sunscreen. The gondola ride to the top was nice. All in all a little expensive. If get there early and stay for a while guess the unlimited pass would be good. So if ride closes due to maintenance, just go ride something else. But would need to be there for a while. Good choices for things to eat, but can bring your own food and drink. There are some lockers nearby to keep stuff, but we traded off going on rides with the kids so didn't need them. Don't forget to show your parking receipt to get the $10 credited to your...
Read moreHmmm...not sure why the negative reviews!?! Maybe folks are expecting free admission and no lines? đ
Our experience was awesome! Arrived at 1:30 on day 1 which meant we got to take advantage of all the great rides and scenery for 4 hours on day 1, then return on day 2 for a full day of fun without having to pay a dime more!
Alpine slide, coaster, Colorado chair were some of our favorites! Also played some mini golf and did the zip lines (zips were admittedly a little disappointing since we have zipped in some amazing locales).
Helpful tips - bring your own water, snacks, food else be prepared for sticker shock! $5.35 for a bottled water! Yikes!
Went back on day 3 and rented mountain bikes and has a blast ripping down the mountain! Best views Iâve ever had mountain biking! Only complaint is the amount of time it took to get the bikes. There was NO line but apparently they wait until a bike is rented before they do the tuneup and safety check!?! Took at least 30 minutes to get 2 bikes. Other than that highly recommended!!!
