Beautiful place with fantastic sushi! Real crab is so good! My only complaint is also an appreciation. I have a pretty severe nut allergy, and I mentioned this to the waitress. They took the allergy very seriously and tried to tell me not to eat anything that would go in the fryer. We had ordered edamame that they didn't recommend me eating that either. The sushi roll I wanted, wouldn't have one of the toppings. I have never had staff freak out so much about my allergy. I appreciated how serious they were taking it, but I also want to mention that every time I eat out, I have a risk of cross contamination. Every time I eat anything, there is a risk. They tried telling me to stay away from a majority of their food, but I think it was a little overkill. I was trying to ask specifics to see if they had anything with peanuts or almonds on the menu, and was met with very short vague answers. Basically an "I don't know but just to be safe, don't eat a majority of the menu". This was a little over-whelming and upsetting. You should have a decent understanding of what goes in the fryers, especially if you go talk to the chefs. If she told me they fry peanuts or almonds in there, I would have agreed and stayed away. Instead, I decided to go ahead and take some risks in what I ate because I felt like they were over-reacting. I was correct, I ate what I wanted and luckily I was fine, but the rest of the meal was very stressful. In their efforts to keep me safe, they freaked me out and made me wonder if I should eat anything there at all. All of this to say, I think ironing out how they handle food allergies would be good. Majority of places I eat at, have a solid system. They have a separate fryer and separate utensils or even a separate station for food allergies, as they are so common now. I really appreciate their concern, but definitely see room for improvement. Now- onto the review of the food and place as a whole. The sushi was out of this world, I am used to Midwest sushi- unfortunately. The fresh pacific seafood was to die for, and the flavors were all unique and fantastic. The Sunshine roll with a sliver of lemon was brilliant! Never seen that before! We ordered the spicy edamame, and it was too spicy for us wheenies. The flavor was there but we couldn't finish it. My friend got the Lobster roll, she loved it! My mom got their Wagyu burger and it was fantastic! I appreciate they had great food outside of sushi for non-sushi eaters. Oh and the calamari is the best we have ever had! The atmosphere was beautiful and servers were very very nice! Overall, I would love to come back and highly recommend this place.

Our dinner was barely decent. I liked the sauces for the French fries and the gyoza, the French fries, the mango sushi with cilantro-pineapple sauce, and the lemon-lavender crème brûlée. The miso soup was grainy and it needed more tofu and seaweed. I was extremely disappointed in the teriyaki chicken bento meal, and you can view my photo to see why. Most of it was rice, way too much rice, and the rest of the portions were very tiny. We only got two gyoza and a small pile of chicken each. The chicken needed more sauce and it wasn’t hot enough. I could have asked them to heat it up and give me more sauce but who really wants to do that? I have severe anxiety and I feel like it should already be practically perfect for the price. I also don’t like that they don’t let you swap out a different type of sushi if you don’t want the California roll because then you have to pay for something you don’t want. The waitress was a bit snooty too. I would not return and I wish I had gotten a refund for my sad excuse for a bento bowl.

I don't like sushi; never have, never will. My wife, however, loves it. She's a sushi connoisseur. She says that their sushi is pretty decent, not the best she's ever had, but decent and worth the visit. I always order the Kobe burger, which is probably the best I've had sans cheese, sans bacon. I just want the beef. I order it on the rare side of medium rare and they do a very nice job. It's very tasty, nicely, but lightly seasoned so the nice tones of the beef come out. Barring my own, it's probably the best burger north of the CA/OR border and west of the coastal range. My real interest, on our most recent visit was this painting on the bathroom wall above the commode. I fished around in my pocket for a couple of Ben Franklins and my Tom Mix. Alas, my Tom Mix was in the car, otherwise, I'd have swapped the green backs for the painting and run out the door. I'd love to know the artist and visit the gallery which, according to the gracious owner/waitress, could be in the Bay Area.

The Sushi is excellent, presented well, and tasty! I haven't yet had a roll I didn't like. It's a very clean place. Tables are cleared as soon as customers leave happy. The tableware is always spotless and fresh linens are supplied. I have never been worried about the cleanliness of the dishes or glassware. Most of the staff are friendly and accommodating. I have been here multiple times and really only have a few small complaints. There is only one bathroom in the back and it has been out of service a few times. It's a little inconvenient. Also, when I state most of the staff is friendly, I've really only ever had problems with a single bartender. There have been great bartenders most of the time, but this one seems like she hates her job or is having a really rough time in life. Maybe she just has bad nights every time I see her there, but I am under the impression if you have drama at home, it should stay at home. Don't bring your personal issues to work. I believe her name is Sarah. I hope she doesn't have the same appeal every time she works, but it has been my experience that she is not as attentive to customers as she should be. When she bar tends, her mixed drinks are inconsistent. Sometimes so strong they taste awful, sometimes mixed to tasting good but not really how they should be made or how I've had them at least. She does also seem more keen to pay her male patrons more attention than other customers. One of the nights I went in with friends, we sat waiting at the bar for her to take our order and she seemed to purposely ignore the four of us. I thought maybe she was somehow joking with one of my friends, but they all became a little irritated with her lack of attention. When she did finally serve us, she was rude. Maybe end-of-the-night grumpiness? I'm really not sure. I consider myself a repeat customer, but if I see she's the bartender, I will go down the street to other bars. I've learned not to come in on nights when she's there. I'll spare myself the disgruntled attitude. I really hope things get better for her and maybe in the future she'll be...

We decided we wanted sushi. Due to Covid exploding, we decided to call in an order to go. Started calling at 11:35 as they rarely open at 11:30. We speed dialed in 5 minute increments with a 5 minute gap, for two solid hours. The phone went to a pre recorded message each and every time. We decided to drive over at 1:30. Walked in, there are two tables in dining and two in bar that had people eating. We asked the lady at reception why their phone went to a pre recorded message , FOR TWO HOURS. Turns out, she never turned the phone to ring through, when they opened. We placed an order with this woman, when one of the”better wait people” walked up, said hello to us as she recognized us. She had to show the first woman how to complete the order. We were told 35 minutes, so we went to the bar for a drink that the lady we know from before, served us. Our preferred server seemed to be handling most of the tables even though there were 3 other women working.

There was a woman working at the bar register. She was doing paperwork and not much else. We waited for 25 minutes trying to get a second drink but we’re totally ignored by the woman, five feet away, at the register. The person who knows us seemed to be doing tables in the bar and dining area, so we chose not to bother her.

After 45 minutes, our to go order was brought to us, by our preferred server even though she did not write our order. It’s a shame that the owner, who is a very nice guy, doesn’t spend enough time at his place so he can see that during the lunch, he has 3 or 4 ladies who are excellent servers but the majority of the people are non chalant in their attitude and their people skills. The woman at the bar, ignored EVERYONE in the Barr. I bet they lost out on 300 to 500 in to go orders from not having the telephone on. Also, whoever he has as the manager, obviously does a poor job.

Thank god his current sushi chef’s are...
