Claim Jumper Steakhouse & Bar- Buena Park — Restaurant in Buena Park

The waiter we had was Hunter he did a good job making sure we had everything we needed at the table and made sure if we need anything else he kept checking on us and did a good job at that only negative was he forgot to bring us bread or ask us if we needed bread so Hunter if you're reading this you did a good job 👍🏻! So to the food it was delicious I wanted fish tacos so they had it it was very good they gave you two fish tacos and it was filling that was for sure! Also the cake that we ordered was delicious the bread was very good I'm talking about the sourdough bread with butter they bring you to the table the frosting was like a cream cheese and it was very delicious that was for sure so everybody at the table had a great meal! So when we got there the wait time was hardly anything but we called ahead of time so we didn't wait at all I know this place gets pretty busy sometimes I was just surprised it wasn't that day on a Friday! No complaints there! So let's go to the restaurant itself they need to keep the floors clean like you can see all kinds of trash on the floor I can tell at the time we were there nobody was really cleaning or sweeping the floors! The tables need some cleaning and rework done same with the walls! Like you figure a restaurant that charges the high prices that they do for this restaurant I mean for two parents and a child you're spending about $120 That's not including the tip you figure they would do some work or remodeling on their business for more customers to come in more like my menu had crayon writing on it that could have been wiped off or they could have gave me a clean one besides that the tables were carved into you can see writings on the wall I mean I know it's a claim jumper but I don't think it should look this trashy I mean literally you have Knott's Berry farm across the street are they trying to fit in an even more! Even Knott's looks a little bit cleaner inside compared to this restaurant! Will I come here again for the food we might order out the restaurant still needs to clean himself up before I ever come back here...

I would never go to this Claim Jumper ever again or even recommend this location. My family and myself visited Claim Jumper after going to Soak City on a hot day. We were excited to get a great meal in after a long but relaxing day. A party member goes to the bar to order A SINGLE Red bull and vodka to continue the fun day. After the party member returned to the table to order food the manager comes running up to our table and threatens to call the cops on us if we give alcohol to our party member. No explanation! No “hi how are you doing?“ or “Unfortunately we can serve this person any drinks.” No. BAM. Straight to “We are going to call the cops.” My family and I looked shocked as the whole restaurant was peaceful. My mom super composed told the manager how she was handling the situation was wrong and that the manager needs to compose herself. The manager was stubborn and aggressive in her tone but my mom managed to defuse the situation. At no point did my party get aggressive. I was shook. My family members were shook but even then we continue to calmly eat our food and leave.

The party member in question was at no point drunk, belligerent, misbehaving or anything. Totally coherent and walking normal. Food was amazing, waiter was nice, and restaurant was beautiful. BUT THAT MANAGER! Holy hell. How do you walk up to a family having a peaceful dinner and not causing any issues and immediately threaten to call the cops on them!?! One hell of a manager introduction.

I believe my family member was profiled but that is a different issue. It would be purposeless to explain the profiling. The overall message without going to the Profiling incident is: AVOID THIS LOCATION!

I bet if that manager was not scheduled that day this would of been a FIVE STAR review. After this glorious experience I wouldn’t step in this restaurant to ask for a cup of water.

There is a update to this review posted to the original review ////A group of friends went here Sunday we ordered our appetizers they were good but from the time we ordered our dinners over one hour had passed the other customers had ate and gone.thank God we ordered those appetizers because the bread they gave us was hard as a rock and it came with no butter.when the food came they messed up a order so we waited.the food was cold to begin with .so we told the manager and she took care of it.but my partner was embarrassed because he was. Trying to show the others a good evening.it was really bad .I don't know what happened to this place it used to be good and we brought out of town guest, celebrated many things here.I do NOT recommend taking anyone here .so disappointing. UPDATED 12/7/19 I was surprised that the owner responded back to my review and that is the sign of a good business.they t mmold me to get back to them with my info and send it to them.well I guess it must have been a automated answer to my review which saddens me in this day and time where people cared and really greeted there customers ,it's really sad that they make you feel that they care but it's like taking customers comment cards and throwing them in the trash.Too bad. 12/27/19 updated once again I had posted that they did not get back to me ,they did get back and it was very professional ,any business that takes time to care about customer service the way they do is a company that cares,recently went in for a bite to eat ,and I have to tell you it was completely different ,I didn't tell them it was me but I'm changing my rating and review to 4. Stars one taken off for the other experience ,so I highly recommend...
