The owner, manager, or whatever the terrible human behind the counter may be, singlehandedly created one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had, and I have lived in and traveled to more than forty countries. She told our entire table that she did not want bar candidates at her restaurant and wished they would “stay away.” All four of us heard her, and so did half the restaurant.
This began when she claimed that their prices were low because she charges extra for tzatziki. Dear reader, we ordered chicken souvlaki, which everywhere in the world comes with tzatziki, yet we were billed an additional $1.15 for a cup of less than two ounces. Did she mention there would be an extra charge, which we would have gladly paid? No, she did not. Instead, she huffed and puffed about keeping her prices low while using hidden nickel and dime tactics.
Then this person actually came outside and claimed my friend had apologized for me after I told her and the entire restaurant that I had never seen anyone behave the way she had. I strongly recommend staying far away from this place and from the horrible, sad human being behind...
Read moreFirst of all, their home made tzatziki is the best!!!! I’ve been to many local Greek places, and the one thing that gets me is when the tzatziki is not good, whether the flavor is too muted or the texture is like they tried to make it go further with water; not so at Takis! Their tzatziki is delicious and adds the perfect compliment to a wrap or souvlaki.Their chicken is super tender and flavorful. The chef makes these amazing soups (one is fish soup, bc I don’t remember the name, with pieces of tender white fish) lentil, chicken lemon rice, and plenty of diner usuals as well are in the rotation. Also, since they are located directly on Court St., they offer the fastest takeout, from an actual Resturant- but I would even dare to say I’ve waited longer in a drive through of actual ‘fast food’ places. Their breakfast is great, the potatoes are wonderful and did I mention they’re so so so budget friendly? If you’re leaving the office on a half hr lunch you can go every day and it won’t break the back and your taste buds will thank you! So no matter what you get, don’t forget to add...
Read moreDelicious Food Nice Atmosphere I had the Steak Quesadilla which was very delicious, had to take half of it home. Also grabbed a piece of Baklava to go huge piece for $3.25 and hit the sweet tooth so delectable. Will definitely be back.
Today, Thursday, November 9, 2017 stopped in on a very cold day for a cup of Chili and sandwich. The Chili was delicious. I decided on a regular Grilled Cheese Sandwich, it was blah two thin slices of packaged (you know Kraft or Borden Singles kind) Yellow American Cheese warmed between two thick slices of white Texas Toast bread, too much bread not enough Cheese, although I do not think more single slices of cheese could have improved it. They use Margarine instead of Butter. The last couple times I've been to Taki's I've been disappointed, they are using bagged salads now instead of fresh, margarine not butter, and single wrapped Cheese over Deli cheese. What's going on Taking??
But at least the Chili was Awesome it warmed my body. And their Baklava is always a real treat, I...
