Edit: went back on 6/11/25 and had hibachi dinner! The food was GROSS! It tasted spoiled and saturated. They only had two chefs working and the place was kind of busy so obviously the chefs were pressed and rushing. I’m so disappointed. 100$ worth of useless food. Noodles were pale and flavorless. Rice was mushy and saturated. I ordered medium well for steak temp and he gave medium if not medium rare. They are not kid friendly at all. Service was slow but I don’t blame him he was Slammed! Only one server for the hibachi side. He tried but his service sucked. The host could have helped him out but she was too busy on her phone to even notice. Go ahead and skip this place find a better hibachi. Not TO GO friendly! I do NOT like how this restaurant nickel and dimes people on to go orders. They totally play you for an up charge on the yum yum sauce. I bought an entire hibachi dinner for 35$ and they give ONE yum yum sauce cup and it’s only filled halfway. So in a 2 oz cup they giving you an oz of sauce for all that food? Get real. When you dine in you can have as much sauce as you want and if you pack up your leftovers to go they give you sauce no charge. Why can’t you honor the fact that people are still paying full price for the food and give them more sauce? It’s unrealistic to give one half filled sauce cup and then charge .50 $ per cup after that. On top of a 1$ convenience fee. And asking for a tip. What a joke. No to mention also when I walked in to pick up my order the lady who was working the to go station was to busy on her cell phone to even notice I was there! It was the bartender who had to grab her attention to attend to me even tho I was sitting right in front of her face! Overall I’d rather go to Benihana. I drove 25 mins to come to shogun and your customer service was so poor. Disappointed.

The food was good. I have 3/5 for food because the VALUE isn't there. It's expensive for what you get. I think our table was $40 per person. They first fill you up on noodles, salad, soup, and veggies so the meat portions are average (and not worth $40). All that said. The food is good. Not great, but perfectly respectable aside from maybe needing a bit of salt. (But I get that is a losing proposition for restaurants one man's too much is another's too little. We even disagreed at the table). Our server was great. He was fast and attentive, if not a bit weird. (The guy with the long beard). I wouldn't choose to go here again, however I wouldn't be opposed to it if others wanted to go. We did not sit at a hibachi table (by design, we didn't want to. We were all hungry after a long day of work). However the people that were at the tables where they cook the food in front of you looked like they were having a good time.

The Shogun Sushi & Hibachi Restaurant is something you just must experience! We did make reservations because we had a party for 8 and 2 Birthdays to celebrate, we had a small wait while they set everything up but it was well worth the wait. The presentation, show and the way the chef cooked the food was outstanding. They made it very special for our 2 birthday girls and it was so fun to watch everyone else in the restaurant who had birthdays also. The food was absolutely delicious! You can order off the menu from the kitchen or order were they bring the food out and cook it on the grill right in front of you. We all ordered for our food to be made on the grill in front of us and it came with five courses which included soup and salad, rice, noodles and vegetables and the main course. The cost is medium to pricey but oh so worth the money spent. It was a wonderful restaurant, terrific food and a splendid atmosphere.

The mediocre has fallen to pitiful.

Mom's bday reservation, yadda yadda. The won't seat us until our party fully arrives and we're 5 min early, no problem. Host tells us to sit at the bar (there are no bar seats). Staff never checks us in or recognized reservation. Our party fully arrives at the same time as another group. No host. They put another group ahead of us as the host greatest them first upon returning to the host stand (no problem).

As we're being seated I hear the server tell the host to seat us and tell us it will be 20 or 30 minutes before our visit will start. We are sat and ignored.

I found the server and asked why they would book a reservation if they did not have enough staff to accommodate and that the level of service felt unreasonable. The server said he'd ask someone to come off their break (guilt trip?) I ask for water at least and it arrives promptly by someone we never see again. The servernever spoke to me again.

No one would even acknowledge us or look at us. I walked to the bar hoping to order 2 bottles of sake while we wait, maybe an app. The host is now behind the bar, lost blank eyes. She can't find and has no idea what she's looking for. She said she'd have to ask the server for help. No one helped me, I stood at the bar looking around. I decided to return to my seat hoping someone would acknowledge our willingness to give someone, anyone money.

We sat for another 8-10 minutes watching 1 server work the other group.

Them we see staff seat another group.

I stared at the cold walls and dry, colorless atmosphere. The Home Alone soundtrack battling over the speaker system against what I assume was a TV blaring some show. There was no life, no warmth, nothing saying "stick around, it will be worth it". The walls around the koi pond were stained with algae and hard water deposits. The staff was unhelpful and unknowledgeable. No management, no reason to stay or ever come back.

We left. No one seemed to care at all and no one made even the slightest attempt at recovering the situation.

We happily spent over $300 at Porter Creek just 2 minutes away. It was great!

Happy...

Have been coming here for years. Even the previous establishment before Shogun. Highly disappointed. Chef forgot the butter on the food and I told him. He went and got it. Didn't put onions the rice. Didn't do the volcano. He said onions are in the rice. No it's not. Asked for Filet minion steak and received regular steak. He said it's Filet but the there people sitting with us ordered the same and said the same of theirs. Didn't do the vegetable throw. He said they no longer do onions but at the end he pulled out the onion to do the volcano. He lit it on fire then racked it in the garbage. I asked him about it and he said they throw it away unless the customer asks. Since when? It's would be one thing if it changed but while waiting on him to come to our table we watched the other Chef right next to us do the onions, veggie toss, butter rice etc. He didn't ask if anyone even wanted onions. Cooked everything one at a time which was fine just not used to it being this way. Cooked the steak all the way then asked how we wanted it cooked. Well complete strangers with us at the table noticed and said the same things. At the end they thanked myself and best friend for speaking up as it was there first time there but it was our 100th time I feel we have been. Food was so bland the waitress came and said you stopped eating. Yes it was BAD!!! Everyone had taken home more than half the meal. The weirdest part was he had the vegetables in one spot but about 6 zucchini pieces in the other corner of the table. He racked them in the throw away portion then took them out and put in a small bowl on bis cart. Sigh 😕 very sad about the experience and food since it's normally so great. I will add the waitress when told about the steaks at the table switched the different bill to regular steak. Won't cater for the job anymore or stop in for a whole. Hopefully once we return we have a better experience or a Chef we are...
